Correction, in the deviation test I said "degree" but I meant millimeters (it was late in the night, lol). Length Of Pull (LOP) is 12 3/4" on the Fixed. not 12".
This is not scientific but it appears the bent is common with 18.5" barrels (variant 1 or 3) which uses small barrel blocks, where as no bent occur with the 20.5" barrels (variant 2) that uses a long barrel blocks.
The deviation procedure in the video was suggested by the importer. I prefer another method (see below steps) which is more accurate but it requires a caliper. Comparing theirs result to mine, we were .3mm apart. Theirs were 3mm and mine were 2.7mm which is not significant considering the result were well below 4mm. To file for warranty claim, the deviation must be 4mm or more...
Step 1. use two sets of magnets of equal thickness, place them on the receiver furthest from each other... Step 2. Line the magnets against a straight edge like a glass table or granite counter top. Held up steady and level using a camera tripod... Step 3. Measure and mark from the front of the receiver towards the muzzle of approx 40 cm... Step 4. Using a caliper, measure the distance from the straight edge to the side of the barrel where it is mark... Step 5. Flip it around to the other side and repeat Step 1 to 4. Repeat the steps a few times on each side... Step 6. Calculation, deviation equal the difference in the two measurements from both sides divided by two. (Mine side A 16.2mm - side B 10.8mm = 5.4mm / 2 = 2.7mm deviation).
Legally, on the FRT, there are only two types of receivers, Type 81SA and Type 81SR. SR is the Dragunov stock and the rest are SA.
Variant 1: Light 18.5" barrel, Fixed and Side folder receivers (blonde), sub variant SE (red wood).
Variant 2: Heavy 20.5" barrel, LMG & SR (blonde, blued), sub variant Limited (phosphate).
Variant 3: Heavy 18.5" barrel, Underfolder & Fixed M (orange).
According to the importer, deviations of more than 4mm across 40cm length of the barrel are considered severe. Contact your dealer to file a warranty claim so if a scope was lined up with the receiver. At 100m, the bullet would land roughly 10" to the right for every 1mm of deviation. e.g.. 2.5mm equal 25" off, 3mm is 30" and 4mm is 40" and so on. Sadly, my Underfolder is bent by 3mm, not bad enough for warranty replacement.
They sent a replacement to my cracked wood top handguard after I sent a few pics to them without much fan fair.
