This console is from 1965. it's not a tube based console but has some great quality assemblies in it, like the Garrard LAB 80 transcription turntable. I'm a big Garrard fan.
The preamp/tuner assembly and the amplifier are made in Canada and date coded December of 1965, a time when transistors are not the most reliable.
I, unfortunately, had to dismantle this beautiful console as I didn't have room for it and nobody wanted to buy it as it's not a tube based console. The amp blew when someone turned it on, so it could be old electrolytic caps or bad finals - TBD. The speakers are all Jensen speakers. Unit has a substantial crossover (one per each channel) and subwoofers in their own rear firing cabinet with sound deadening material. The mids and highs are angled 44 degrees to reflect off of the back wall (hmmm I wonder if Dr. Bose saw this beautiful piece.....) e'hem 901s.
Anybody ever hear of this company? This has to be the "Bentley" of consoles. It's a cut above even the better quality ones I have come across. Happy Listening!
