Hello Susan, Thanks for the comment. All of this was filmed with Don Teese at Yamina Collectors Nursery, now unfortunately closed. Don is a wealth of information as well as being a plant collector following in the footsteps of his late father, Arnold Teese . Dons brother Peter still runs a nursery Yamina Rare Plants.

@@DORKSIDE616 Hello Susan, Yamina does have a great collection including some very rare plants. Nishiki Nursery (who are wholesalers) also have a great collection.

I have a Berberis thunbergii atropurpures Harlequin is it ok in full sun or will it be unhappy .. I’ve just put it in the ground in my garden ?

It does depend a little on your climate zone and soil,. HOWEVER, in general they grow well in full sun and generally give the best colour in full sun. You will need to water it through the first summer or two, however once established they are regarded as drought tolerant. A little mulch around it and it should thrive.

I got here by Google searching for security hedging plants, before directly searching for this species on KZitem. This video was helpful, as I am plant ignorant, but want security hedging for my property that is also aesthetic in the 4 seasons. The only suggestion I have is to indicate if toxic to pets or kids.
