Got a Bergara HMR 308 and 300prc, Approach 6.5 creedmoor. Really debating on adding another HMR in 6.5prc to the collection. Ammo is finally becoming better priced for it again to be worth the investment

I don't think your videos have sold any Bergara rifles, but I'm pretty sure that they sold a few Savages!

My bergara shot very well when it was new, but it has become very picky and inconsistent with loads. I have to believe it's due to the lack of proper bedding in the stock.

Keeping me from buying one... And yes I bought a Savage.

@@RobsReloading I had to bed mine in 300WM. You could see evidence of movement on the bottom of the action. It's now a solid sub MOA gun.

@@heyyou6903 the bergara action is so superior to the savages, but mine will only shoot when the barrel is very clean. Glad you ended up with a solid rifle.

I'm getting similar results with my B14 HMR in 308. Averaging over 1 MOA for 5-shot groups even with the factory ammo they recommend. I sent it back to Bergara, they shot a couple 3-shot groups and sent it back to me without touching it (or even telling me they were sending it back...). I've been trying to find a load it likes for over a year with no luck. I thought it was me until I got a Tikka CTR. It averages under 0.5 MOA with just about any bullet I throw at it. I guess it passed Bergara's 3-shot guarantee (barely...one of the groups was 0.98 MOA). Anyway, I'm not impressed with Bergara's rifles or their Customer Service. Anyway, I learned my lesson and won't be buying from them again.

I think same as you do, a chassis will help reduce groups.

Your velocity slowing down is telling that barrel is not happy. Willing to bet it's time for the JB bore paste

Changing powder type will often require a shot or two to re-season the barrel velocity wise, but it may take more shots to settle the POI even if the velocity ES seems to have settled.

I’ve had similar problems with Nosler 6.5 PRC brass. From what I can tell the H2O case capacity is significantly different than the other brands. Whether it’s that or something else I’ve never gotten Nosler brass to shoot well.

Much better than the Magpr groups.

Looking forward to next test. I've been wanting a 6.5 PRC HMR and am now thinking not. We'll see.

I have this same rifle and the only bullet weight it shoots decent groups with is 140gr. I don’t reload and the only ammo commercially made in this weight is Hornady Match. I’ve never had a rifle that is so temperamental when it comes to ammo. I’m not sure what to do. I keep buying different ammo and getting terrible results.

I have gotten rid of rifles because of Nosler and Norma brass. No luck with that brass at all

Yeah it seems like those stocks could be iffy the way they’re bedded. Maybe try some reloder 26 and the 130s and 123s again. Works great in my cva with bergara barrel. Smokin pretty good, excellent groups and decent SDs

Have you tried top loading rounds during your load tests? After watching you work that bolt and load rounds from the magazine, it dawned on me that the concentricity of your rounds might be degraded when you slam the nose of the round against your feed ramp. Obviously, the negative effect would be more pronounced with longer bullets which make contact with the ramp before being released from the magazine.

Yes often I single feed my Bergara. This gun actually feeds really well, so I doubt it is impacting the accuracy.
