Honestly, the more likely result after banlist is that SE is nuked, yubel becomes the new SE and everything else does not change that much, probably even more bystials running around so until the new set it sucks but WF is gonna have a really hard time

Konami usually hits the top few decks, not just the number 1 with their scorched earth lists. I expect yubel and tenpai to get hit as well

Yubel is strong, i would argue it has a stronger end board than SE but in no way as consistent. The true power of Snakes is that every card works interchangeably as starter or extender. This is why in a meta were Yubel is the deck to beat, side/techs will decimate it. While it will work better than Lab or Branded that have the same weakness, I can easily see Yubel's representation cap at 20% instead of 50% similar to Snakes. The followup is also extremely tied to the player and not the cards, so greedier lines burning through Phantoms won't be able to compare with Flamberge floating. The big side effect of Yubel being the top deck affecting WF is that everyone will main Bystials, taking away the lvl4 tuners will hurt a lot. I'm practicing casually (locals lvl) WF so I can't give an accurate opinion on them, but I've extensively played with Snakes/Yubel (on higher lvl) so I don't think Yubel that oppressive of a deck for the rest of the meta (it has some very bad matchups, and that is without optimizing decks to counter it specifically)

@@truegamerking i believe that as well, but with indirect hits to Yubel. My bet is on DBB or Gates to get limited, then if the deck becomes tier 1, in the following list limit Phantom. Limiting Spirit doesn't do anything with 3 Phantoms and hitting Samsara to 1 makes it so reliant on Fiendsmiths resolving it's almost unplayable. About Tenpai, while they seem oppressive I honestly believe limiting the Field Spell makes them War Rocks. It can be an ignorant deck but also lose to a single handtrap. Maybe hitting Paidra is the correct move I don't know how to properly balance it.

@babrad honestly, hot take from me as well, but I'd like to see a few hits to lab, branded, and gimmick puppet. Nothing major, just a limit to a big welcome, maybe, something to stop the gimmick puppet ftk, the field spell maybe like with tenpai, and ban albion. I feel like that those decks would probably run away with the format if they are left unchecked. I know gimmick puppet is new and the ftk isn't overly consistent I just don't like playing against it

Ye ye i was not saying they will only hit SE and nothing else. I also think Beatrice is getting ban (hopefully) and really hope calamity/crimson and puppet/sancti also are getting ban with Apo aswell why not. Light hits on yubel and tenpai are more then welcome and i also hope they murder gimmick puppet cause fuck ftks. My take was considering the most likely outcome will be yubel on top as its too new to murder it but its a really strong deck and tenpai unless they do something crazy will still be relevant

we NEED a field spell that can be a starter and extender just like they do for every archetype nowdays...

I'm wondering how the Ritual Beast matchup is with WF. Turning everything face-down doesn't work well when they can contact fuse, and the actual win condition is wasting everything so they can safely Protos lock LIGHTS safely OTKing on turn 4 instead (or protos lock light in engine going first). And that's without mentioning Shifter, boardbreakers, or floodgates like Dimensional Fissure. From my experience playing against WF with Yubel, Rage + Escape (unchained trap that pops) was the best plan but almost every list prefers Chamber (revive Rage from GY) for Apollousa setups. My suggestion to a friend shifting their WF to boardbreakers + your Nib/Veiler combo made me interested in the WF, and DRNM/Evenly/Storm/Raigeki similar to Tenpai is very effective in WF (that can run DRNM) against Yubel since they have much higher ceiling than Tenpai, but I had issues when handtrapped to death with unusable cards in hand. This is why I want to make Droplet work in the deck, and maybe run the 3 card Centur-ion package as a plan b. I experimented with "Sales Ban" pre-emptively hitting "turn enders" like Blossom when I had rough hands (in addition to CBTG) that also got a lot of value going second, but I recognize it's a "bad tech" that's why I don't suggest it unlike Packbit or Satellite.
