looked at differant styles, mine is a 66 meyers manx, garage find, been stored at least 30 yrs, Very nice shape, VW engine, not sure what size CCs though, snaky exhaust system, rollbar, big tires,deeply reversed wheels, 2 carbs, nice fairly new metallic green paint, i think it was a great deal for only 1 thousand. I really know nothing about these but it was too good a deal to pass up, will have it fixed up for one of my grandsons. Gotta get 30 yrs of dust off though, will be fun.

that's a real nice looking buggy, the paint job on it is awsome. Is it a 1600 cc engien? I'm thinking of buying a buggy for the summer days.

David Hatchel It is a Berrien Nostalgia made by the ACME Car Company. There aren't any ID badges on them. They make a few different styles.

It's an unwritten rule, right? You must drive your buggy without shoes. LOL Barefoot driving is the BEST driving.

Hey Mike, ever since I removed the EMPI short shift pieces it has worked fine. In fact, I find myself shifting without the clutch quite a bit. That's one of those things that you either know how to do or not but I find that it keeps my foot out of those dual carb's.

Mine came with the EMPI quick shift plate and same issue: it didn't want to shift for s***. Took it out and all is good now. Nice buggy!

Pretty cool, you might want to think about another rear bumper, right now it looks like the bumper is your crankpully and oil filter!

Hey Stacey, nice job on the Berrien, I don't know if your still having a problem with the shifting,when I took out the buss box setup and went to a type 1 IRS I had a hard time getting it to shift smoothly,after messing around for awhile and not getting anywhere I put the shifter in reverse and with the stift coupler a little lose I made sure the output shaft was turned all the way to reverse then thightened the the shift coupler and then it went in to every gear like butter and has been shifting great sense, i hope this helps.

i have one just like this berries also red the only thing is at 55 i get a wobble in the steering wheel nothing is loose at all anywhere ,,so i added 72 lbs of sand in bags , put it in the front bumper for added wheight and bingo all is well , i think these fenders on the berrien buggy act as wings somewhat at high speed. nice job thanks for the vid its fun to watch .

i have one just like it 9 years now the only thing with these berrien is the front end tubes are way too strong for the weight of the front end causing some what i call dribbling effect i added front end weight to stop it about 72 lbs does it . just saying

These seat's were designed for a new Ford that never made production. I bought them from Suburban Seats. Unfortunately they're sold out now.

Hi There! How much will it cost to build a buggy like yours?
@keithk8698
5 жыл бұрын
Jun A Barcenas it all depends. If your asking the whole car 6,000-8,000. I built mine for about $14,300 . Mine cost more because I have a 2387cc

Hey, awesome looking buggy!! I also have a buggy with a Berrien Nostalgic bogy, and was wondering if you could offer up some advise as to how to remove the front hood? I've been in and out of the car and still cant figure out how to get the hood off so I can access the gas tank area!! thanks for any info you can give!!
@STACEYANDDEE

There re 4 bolt's that hold the hood on. Two up front under the fender (look in front of the headlight's and under the fender) and two under the side of the body directly under the windshield frame.
