I bought the 8+ 1 Bersa Thunder and liked it so much a got the Plus. I love the James Bond PPK look, SA/DA, and all metal frame. Low recoil and eats all ammo so far. With today's technology in ammo, the 380 is perfect for self-defense. I will check out the TPR.

I have the threaded version of this and love it and have reviewed and upgraded it (fixed recoil). 15 + 1 suppressed rounds of always subsonic 380 acp ammo that are the same caliber as 9mm (and thus 9mm cans work perfectly on them)? Yes please.

Thanks for this! About 15 years ago, I bought my first Bersa. I thought it was so cool looking. But it would stovepipe at least once per magazine. It took about 500 rounds before it decided to settle down and become something more reliable. But because of that problem, I got very good at taking guns apart and cleaning them. I eventually sold it, and felt good about it because after all the work I did on it, it became 100% reliable.

Great to see a newer release da/SA double stack like this. Looks like a good alt to the very scarce cheetah 84f which I shoot well. The wider DS grip just fits my hand comfortably, like you mentioned. I’ve been pretty impressed by bersa’s quality for the price.

I have a Remington RM380 that I picked up from Cabela's for $100 three years ago. Where I aim it shoots, and what I put in it, it shoots. It fits in a pocket when I don't want to hide a pistol on my belt. It's like driving a Honda Civic; There are better ones, but this one works just fine.

I am so happy to see this review of the Thunder Plus. Looking forward to the what's for dinner test! I would really like to see a follow up video on the Bersa TPR9C. I would really like your feedback on the finish of the gun especially the barrel. Another KZitemr showed that his TPR9C finish was a bit sub par, this concerns me. I am deciding between the Thunder Plus and the TPR9C. The latter is a bit bulky but I really love it. I am very curious about which of the two has a grip with smaller circumference as my hands are medium sized. A side by side comparo would be really really helpful in terms of reference regarding overall dimensions. I have shot the Thunder Plus and did well with it, it felt great. Love the rubber grips. My only other concerns are the availability of holsters for both firearms and ofcourse the fact that the Thunder Plus comes with only one magazine which stacks the deck in favor of the TPR9C.
@GBGuns
2 жыл бұрын
Ultimately the TPR9C is more versatile, will be cheaper to feed, but harder to conceal. Finish wear on a Bersa is going to happen, you can't expect top-notch at such an affordable price. Worst case you could order a cerakoted model or get yours cerakoted.

If you upgrade the springs with Wolff Walther PP Recoil Springs, as per my video (I use the 18 lb "Extra Power" Walther PP recoil spring - the Bersa 380's comes with meager 12-13 lb springs), you can reduce the recoil by at least 35-40% and not sacrifice reliability 1%. Harder to rack the slide is only downside, but any male 13yo could still rack the slide. I even lay out in my video, and on the bersaforums and bersapistolforums how I calculated the Bersa recoil-spring strength.

If I'm not mistaken Bersa had a double stack 380 many years ago. This appears to be an updated rerelease. Sig and S&W launched high cap 380's and they must be selling so why not Bersa. Its less expensive than the other 2, and Bersa sells a lot of the single stacks. I'm betting it will sell at least ok. Looking forward to the next video at the range.

@@stoegerstewie8351 No, the S&W is an 8+1 but the point is that it's a little larger sized 380 with a greater capacity than the average tiny 380. It's just under 6 3/4'' long while the general trend in 380 is a Ruger LCP, Sig 238 sized gun. The SIg P365 is a 10+1 gun

@@macriggland6526 IMO it's a good-looking pistol that should be very comfortable to shoot. I'm sure there's a market for this gun. Normally I carry a 9mm, 40 or a 357. I had a double stack .380 version, the trigger slap is what made me sell it. It had equivalent recoil to that of a .40S&W, blowback operated firearms are a no go for me. The palm of my hand would get smacked by the grip and would be sore after a few mags.

I’m picking mine up Friday, this new civil defense ammo I got for my hk p30l it’s 50 grain, amazing ballistics, 2100 fps 450 fpe, almost completely hollow it makes my hk weigh nearly as much as my Walther Ppk/s .22 (a regular carry for me as of late. I really dig the size of this gun and the closeness to the PPKS but man the da/sa trigger on it is nearly as good as my old sig p226 srt (had to sell it unfortunately) Only negative I’ve seen is the price of the magazines, apparently the manufacturer isn’t producing or… switching manufacturers etc Anyway anyone have some range ammo and defense ammo they recommend? I’m trying the civil defense and maaaybe a box of the RIP ammo which I’ve never tried I really like the civil defense the ballistics are close to the 9mm version I mean really crazy stuff. I can definitely say this gun overall feels superior to the Walther ppk.380 across the board. 16 shots is magnificent then my Walther on my ankle when I’m working these minor protection gigs I do a couple times a month. I’m really stoked on trying it, definitely looking forward to adjusting it to what I want Only thing I wish is it has a threaded barrel built in like the PPK and the feed ramp can’t shoot steel and I believe aluminum case rounds due to the feed ramp being anodized aluminum but these are minor gripes Side note: the Walther pd380 and smith and Wesson equalizer (internal hammer fired design and pretty much anything I’d want in a pistol of that size) and EZ shield .380 were big competitors for me I paid $340 for mine after taxes

Not only do you somehow manage to review ALL the guns that I am interested in; you do so with such integrity, that I know I am getting nothing but the Lord's honest truth about the product in question. Literally, I have not tried out a single gun which you have reviewed, and found anything about the firearm that contradictis what you said about the gun in your videos ...This is very much NOT the case with many other "GunTubers". I recommend you on every form post I make, as I know the KZitem algorithm has no intention of promoting guntubers, except for the small handful of whom KZitem has somehow given their blessing too. I like it better with Walther PP springs in it :D . Seriously though the PP comes with 15lb recoil spring, the PPK comes with a 20lb spring, and as I measured it, the Bersa comes with a 12lb spring (absurdly weak). Per my video, the PP springs are the best upgrade you can put on this firearm. The 18 lb one works perfectly and is 50% stronger than the stock bersa spring. So thank goodness for WALTHERS! Because I needed a spring with the same length and # of coils.
