The most basic foundations of graffiti are writing your name in a tag format. Some tags take the form of straights while others pursue illegible wild style. This video features 24 minutes of raw and unedited flared tagging from some of New Zealand's most active writers painting in a range of locations. Using the medium of spray paint and pressure sprayers in their application, they apply their name on the wall with the aim of exploring style and leaving a mark in history. An initial call for flare video submissions have led to the creation of the #berstchallenge. Read below for more details if you would like to participate and contribute to future compilations.
Thanks to all the contributors from across NZ for their video submissions. To maintain anonymity, their names have not been featured. To feature in the next compilation video for the #berstchallenge please send all entries to bobbyhung10@hotmail.com
Submission criteria: 1) Make sure your video is filmed during the day with ample light, 2) Your tags should be flared, 3) Ensure your filming is horizontal and landscape rather than portrait, 4) If you do not want your identity to be revealed please wear appropriate clothing, 5) The challenge is open to all ages, genders, and countries, and 6) There is no cut off date for submissions.
