Philosopher Helen Petrovsky, whose work primarily focuses on aesthetics, was one of the participants of the discussion program organized by the Cultural Creative Agency at the Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair. Her talk was dedicated to the possible interpretations of the phenomenon of turbulence and its significance for art and contemporary culture.
In an interview with syg.ma platform editor Konstantin Koryagin, she discussed philosophical understanding of turbulence, its subtle influence on human identity, new connections that form out of broken order, and the difficult situations that contemporary art finds itself in now.
This is the third interview in the “Conversations on Turbulence” series held by EastEast at the Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair and was a component of the overall “Turbulence” exhibition and discussion program organized by the Cultural Creative Agency. The purpose of these conversations is to understand how to navigate today's world in which not only air masses collide, but our identities, social contexts, and seemingly immutable definitions do as well.
