The Swallows are one of the earliest and most-beloved of the early R n’ B groups. They formed in Baltimore during the late 40s, and this is their 4th issue for the King label from the Spring of 1952. It rose to the #8 spot on the national R n’ B chart becoming the group’s biggest hit. From this point on, Junior Denby did most of the leads as King records wanted a different sound-similar to Charles Brown. Junior recreates his original lead here-a song he wrote-- and is backed up by Eddie Rich, the well-known, alternate original lead, and three others. They may be Albert Smith, Thomas Brown, and David Banks (who all sang with Eddie in the early 80s), but I am not able to verify that.
