How can you recommande the hisense U6K miniled without reviewing it ?

Cuz knowing the spects n how WELL BLOOMING control Hisense has been for the MINI LED not generic QLED, n being VA panel for U6K (VA are usually only be on Flagship panels for Samsung/SONY), so its like all thrown in HIGHER tech for bargain 😅😮

In the US and for someone that streams mostly, would you recommend the 85U8K over the 85QM8 because of the processor? Or is the processor not that much of a difference and not worst losing the 10 bit panel with almost 1000 extra dimming zones. Which one do you recommend? Im also considering gaming on a PS5 with the tv.

In your experience, how much of a processing difference is between the U8K and the QM8? Since I do mostly streaming, but considering getting a PS5 in the near future.

I hope this helps answer questions to those considering between the 85QM8, 85U8K, 85X90CL, and even the 77S90C. I started back in July with the 85QM8, and I loved the contrast, brightness, and vibrant colors. Hated the horrible streaming upscaling capability that literally made certain content like MLB game unwatchable because it couldn't even make the face of the hitters recognizable. Also, poor EOTF would overblow certqim bright images to the point that all details were lost, so I returned it one month later. Tried the 77S90C, better than 85QM8 at everything, except brightness during day watching and SIZE, I didnt think the 8" drop was going to be that noticeable, but it was....and currently that dont think its worth paying 2-3X the price for an 83" oled. I currently have both the 85U8K and the 85X90CL side by side agaisnt by wifes wishes 😂. Like most people, I felt cheated by the 85X90CL with a FALD display and probably only 150 dimming zones at best...So I had to try to the 85U8K Mini-LED with 1300 dimming zones, 1500 NITS, QLED, and an 8.5 rating from RTINGS.COM. After a couple of days of playing with them side by side, (not hearsay), for the purpose os STREAMING only, I have NOT tried gaming, the X90CL has better colors, including blacks period! Side by side, same content, same image, the colors of the 85U8K are dull/washed out in EVERY mode because of the way Hisense is choosing to present the colors this year. FYI, FOMO, along with other youtubers and even others in the comments, had mentioned that, but I guess I'm a bit stubborn and refused to 100% believe it😅. I'm not a professional calibrator, but I have some experience with tweaking tv settings...I mean come on, this year alone this is the 4th tv since July chasing my best picture quality valueed tv 😁, since I probably wont upgrade again for another 3-5 years I hope. I have never owned a SONY until the 85X90CL, I used to think that they were overpriced for what you were getting, and based on reviews from youtubers and RTINGS.COM, they were not worth it imo. Based on the fact that the clarity is soooooooo much better in most content on the X90CL over the U8K, dont believe me? Try streaming Darkwing Duck from Disney plus side by side 😆, also what's with the dullness of the U8Ks colors including blacks 🤦🏽♂️, and yes, im also comparing them wot the QM8 and the S90C...The 85U8K is sadly going back...I had such high hope for it considering I waited forever to get my hands on the 85U8K. I hope that answers some of your questions. But if in doubt or curious like I was, order both and put them side by side like I did 👋.

So I’m looking to get an 85” for my main living room tv. I’ve been watching a lot of your reviews. I was going to get a s90c but think I will want a brighter bigger tv. Do you still think that with your calibration which I will subscribe to get the tcl qm8 is better then the Hisense U8k? Both are currently the same price at Best Buy in 85” so price isn’t a factor. I mostly watch movies, and tv shows and KZitem videos. I will probably never use it for gaming. Which would you recommend? Thanks.

I ended up with the Sony X90L. The 85inch was on sale for only 1999.99 at Amazon and Costco. It was actually cheaper than the TCL QM8 🤣 No regrets so far. Love how it looks . Compared them in person and went with your review and Tech Steve reviews comparing both of them and I leaned more with Steve’s take on it. I know it’s Full-Array vs mini LED, but it really true that sometime less is more with Sony. But it was a close. What did it for me it was the upscaling and all the processing and the fact that it was cheaper than TCL QM8

I know we're in 2024, and that third-generation QD-OLED is the best in performance. But not everyone can afford it in any size, but especially in larger sizes. LCD is a more economically feasible option even for dedicated enthusiasts regardless of size. Budget and passion aren't always inseparable. I know your experiences with the Sony X90J and X90K weren't the greatest. So many users have noticed the X90L is a significant improvement over the Hisense U8K, Sony X90J, Sony X90K, and TCL QM8. I have the 85-inch Sony X90CL. When playing HDR10 content in the Custom picture mode with all processing turned off and everything in the Video Signal category set to Auto, I think the peak highlights are strong and the colors are ritch. Yet the colors don't look as ritch when playing SDR Rec.709 content with these settings. However, when setting Live Color to Medium, it seems to make colors ritch without oversaturating things, making things look as good as BT.2020 content. I am also impressed with its built-in sound system, including its bass, and how it handles surround channels with the surround mode set to On and the surround level set to Max. Being that Sony will only be replacing their more expensive mini-LED and OLED models in 2024 according to a leak, I have a feeling Sony might continue manufacturing the X90L so they don't lose budget-conscious buyers. It sounds like you judged the X90L based on what you saw in a store. If you get a chance before you get too bombarded with all the 2024 models, could you give the Sony X90CL (Costco version) or Sony X90L a chance? It doesn't have to be the 75-inch, 85-inch, or 98-inch model. The 55-inch or 65-inch model would be fine. The Costco version includes a 90-day returns policy, a two-year manufacturer warranty, three years of Allstate protection, and a premium Sony backlit remote control with an aluminum top.

I returned my 85QM8 a couple of weeks ago and just ordered the 85U8K. I did love the picture quality most of the time, but Dolby Vision was not great during the day and the sometimes the procesor would struggle a bit. Did I make a mistake by doing so? I do feel like swapping 2300 dimming zones from the 85QM8 for 1300 85U8K sounds very significant. But I was hoping that the slightly better processor would make up for it. I mostly stream sports, movies and tv shows, but considering purchasing a PS5 for the holidays. What do you think? Im specting the 85U8K in 1 week. Im currently using the X90L, and while its amazing in SDR, it doesn't feel as punchy as the QM8 did. I was hoping the 85U8K would be the a mix of both the X90L due to the slight up on the processor over the QM8, and more punch than the X90L 😂.

I still have the X90CL, but I'm still shopping around, to be honest. It has a great processor but is lacking the dimming zones and contrast that Im looking for. Also, I like colors, so even on vivid, it doesn't pop like the QM8 did. Brightness and reflection are also not as good during the day, If you like to open the shades every once in a while.

Samsung's s90c sadly likely isn't great for low bit rate content. The c1 had smooth gradation which helped keep blocky artifacts and false contours under control. You're not wrong if you notice a difference.

I purchased the VIZIO 85" Class P-Series Quantum X 4K QLED HDR Smart TV P85QX-J01. I watched a ton of your videos and weighed price and capability's. I like the fact that in an open floor plan with lots of windows that the brightness would be able to hold the room. It is bright even after turning it down some, I like it.. I do notice a hint of backlight on or off when scrolling credits.. it will be slightly dimmer on the edges of rows of text. I don't notice light bleed or blooming. The colors to me, seem to pop and are vivid and accurate. for the size and price I do think it is a fair compromise. I think the TCL mini led would be a little better but I got the VIZIO on sale at a box store. I do have your settings on my 48 OLED C1 that I have been using as a computer monitor and for watching TV when the wife has the big TV. I was wanting an 83 OLED C1 as main TV, but the price stayed high for to long and the old zero dimming zone Sharp 1080 had to go. Love your content and guidance, keep it up.. we are always learning from you.

Filmmaker Mode is an industry standard that disables the extra processing in your TV that can take away from the “film-like” quality of the image on screen12. Your TV’s Movie or Cinema picture mode may deliver similar accuracy, but Filmmaker Mode goes one step further1. Filmmaker Mode has resolved several issues when it comes to HDR 10+ content that was dimming, flickering or just plain blown out highlights or buried blacks3. For all UHD that is not in HDR, movie mode (with adjustments to preference) works best3.

Should I leave it plugged in overnight or unplug it from the wall socket after 3,4 hours of turning off the TV? 2. Picture Clarity - Auto makes motion smooth but It introduces motion artifact due to aggressive judder reduction. What should be the setting to enjoy smooth motion without motion artifacts.
