Here is my recipe on 7 spices: kzitem.info/door/PL1xS-KH6of9HDLrvwZEUh-d-7OA3zGJbL You do not need to cook the bulgur. I used the finest one, only a tbsp, and add it. It will absorb the juice from the salad. However, you can also soak it in lemon juice prior to adding it (I always skip this).

I’ve been trying to make this salad to remember the taste of what I had when we were in Lebanon about 7 years ago and none of the recipes I’ve tried came close to it. Now I see that you added a more few spices as well as your ‘secret ingredient’. I will definitely try it. But I have one question. All the other recipes states to soak the medium grain bulgar in a boiling water for about 30 mins. I see that you put fine bulgar directly into the salad without soaking it first. Is it because the fine bulgar doesn’t need soaking to make it edible?
@nourcookslebanese523
Жыл бұрын
Exactly it’s so fine that it will soak up in the juices of the bowl. But make sure to use the fine one and add it in advance to the bottom of bowl about 30 min before serving. And this will do it! I hope you enjoy this recipe and please let me know how you find when you try it 😃

wonderful video. One question, do you need to cook bulgar before adding? Also can you show how to make turnip pickle? ( pink)
@nourcookslebanese523

Hello, you do not have to cook the bulgar, what I do is use the finest one (#1) and it usually get soaked up in the juice of the Tabouli itself. What you can also do is soak it in advance in some lemon juice. But really you can just add it to the bottom of your Tabouli bowl where all the juice settles and refrigerate for about 15 min before mixing and serving. As for the turnips, they get their color from beets. Here is my video on pickled turnips: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2G162KGdo5V-gHY

I can't wait to make this for myself and my son. I grew up eating tabouli, and I loved it but my father always said it was too time consuming, but this seems simple enough! I have pomegranate molasses (the Lebanese brand) قرطاس but you mentioned it was your mom's & aunt's recipe to add the pomegranate. Is your mom Persian? Thanks! ~جمال 🇮🇶 🗽

Wow...this was good and confusing too because your sweater is not green and the onion is yellow or white. Do you refrigerate it for a while?
@nourcookslebanese523

I personally like it a bit chilled. so I refrigerate it for at about 30 min before serving, This will give the ingredients time to know each other and the bulgur to get fully soaked:)

Hi, I made this without ‘seven spices’ as I don’t know what they are. So i just mixed a little coriander powder, cayenne pepper, paprika. It was still very nice but I would like to do it properly. What are the Seven Spices please?
Parsley has a gritty sandy dirt in it so make sure you wash like really scrub out and rinse two or three times your parsley and cilantro before use.

My Palestinian mother-in-law taught me to make this, it's my favorite! They soak the bulgur first and the parsley is washed a dried completely before the salad is mixed. But I really like the way you have made it with the dry bulgur. I think the dry bulgur in your recipe would soak up the amazing flavors of the juices and oil. I can't wait to make it this way! Thank you and blessings to you.

Just after mixing (use bulgur #1) you can also soak it in fresh lemon juice in advance (1 lemon for a 1/4 cupof bulgur)

Yes, use curly parsley not flat Italian. This will be easier to finely chop.
