Maybe create a vid where you use a loop with varied terrain and have her ride both bikes back to back on the loop and then discuss her feelings about the experience. Her relevance as a newer, milder rider resonates with so many viewers.

Over 20 years of riding single track. Roughly 30 woods bikes purchased. Currently on a 24 300 KTM. First ride on the 250F yesterday. It was absolutely hilarious. Climbed all the switchbacks. Gapped my buddy in the simgle track on his 23 300 XC. I might add my girth hits 220 pounds on the scale. The smile never left my face. Reminds me of being a kid again. People should give this bike a chance. It's reliable, simple to maintain and can cover a variety of skilled riders.

I’ve followed the channel for a while. This is my third season riding. My first bike was a 250l then a 250f. I almost bought a X Trainer in place of the 250f. All my purchases were inspired by your channel, thanks.

I’m 5’4” and have been riding for 7 years. I started on a KLX140L then moved to a KX100 and then a KTM 250 XC-F. The 250 was way too much for me in every aspect even lowered an inch. I now ride a 2023 CRF150RB and I can confidently say it’s my favorite bike I’ve ever had. I feel so confident and it’s such a blast. A little cramped for sure but raising the handlebars helped a ton.

I feel the same way. I just bought a 24 150rb, not even a week old and I can tell that the first thing that has to be upgraded is handle bars and risers. When I stand up, I'm really having to lean over to the bars. Other than that, I don't think I'd change anything else.

We have a KTM 250 xc-f, a Husqvarna FE 350, a CRF 150 RB, a RM-Z 250, a KX 65...and other bikes for learning or asphalt tracks. What we have found is that chassis size is the most important aspect, at least initially. Confidence is key and a properly sized motorcycle is more important than the bike's engine capacity. I would rather give my kids a 100hp motor with a bike that fits them over a 25hp bike that is too big/tall for them. Positioning and sizing are everything for learning. It's easier to control the throttle than it is to control the chassis.

Another category of rider for the Xtrainer...........Older experienced riders. I've been riding dirt bikes (and road bikes) since my first minibike in 1971, a Honda Mini Trail 50. . A 1978 Yamaha YZ 125 was my first real dirt bike to show you how long I've been riding. I'm nearly 60 now and just can't throw my leg over these 38" seat height bikes any more. So the Xtrainer is perfect. Plenty of power, and the lower seat height is perfect for what I need now. Keep up the great content you two! Love what y'all do.

Loved the episode! I found you guys early last year when I was looking into getting my first bike. I ended up going with a KTM 250 sxf four stroke. Got it in May and kept it until October. I jumped on a Husqvarna TE250 two stroke. The KTM was great to learn on being a four stroke but was a massive bike. Super tall and heavy ( I’m 5’6). After riding my buddies Husky TE300 2 stroke in September I knew I had to switch. It was way lighter, shorter, and more maneuverable. It even felt easier to ride clutch, throttle, stall wise. Picked up my husky TE250 2 stroke end of October and couldn’t be happier! Clocked just about 60hrs since last May between the two bikes. Just upgraded my helmet and boots from my $100 ones I got 😂 it was time and it’s world of a difference going from entry level boots and helmets to mid/upper level lol maybe that can be the next podcast episode? Gear you need and price points

Everyone always wants to know if the 250F will be a enough bike for them and it usually is, when its not enough bike for you, you will know it. My wife started getting fast and she since has started racing enduros and we got her a 150XCW and its perfect for her, we also looked at the Xtrainers but found a better deal on the KTM and I think it was the better choice now. She is 4 months post op from a torn ACL and cant wait to get back to riding/racing.

I liked your comment about how riding should be fun. I'm a little older, and hadn't ridden a dirt bike since I was a kid. I wanted a bike to ride on trails, so I looked at "trail bikes". Ended up with a YZ250FX. Amazing bike, but the power scared me. Rode it a couple of times and was never comfortable, so I didn't want to ride it. I had hoped to find something like my 250L had been. Fast forward 3 years, and here I am looking at the 250f. I think it's much better suited.

Good comparison. I think there's some overlap between the two bikes. I have a XTrainer and have a couple buddies who have both. The CRF250F is definitely better for the person who's never ridden, but after a day on it, the XTrainer may be better. One buddy had been letting his daughter ride the 250F a lot. She had been out several times for a few hours. His son came home for the holiday and he put his daughter on the XTrainer and son on the 250F. Once the son had a handle on using the clutch and all that, the two swapped. The daughter was happier on the 250F and the son was happier on the XTrainer.

I took 6 years off of riding and ended up buying a new 250f in 2022, even though i exclusively rode 2 strokes before i just thought the 250f met all my needs at the time! I would still love to get a beta 200rr or xtrainer for the gnarly mountain single track i like to ride though... thats my only gripe with the 250f, it has me wanting just a little bit more power. I always loved the xr 350/400 for this reason, its a shame honda doesnt make them anymore because id love one with e-start!

For new riders with no experience the CRF250F or KLX230RS are excellent bikes that will help you learn and inspire confidence. Many people believe they can handle the power of a race inspired bike or that more is better. Most often this does not work out. You have 5 controls to operate in addition to balance and steering. Fighting with a tall, highly powered, stiff suspension machine is a recipe for failure. Or, you spend an additional $1-3k to down tune the machine. You can spend $5-6k on a new trail bike like the CRF or KLX, and not spend any additional money. Plus, the maintenance and operating cost is much less on the entry level bikes.

Haven't ridden a beta but if I'm not mistaken they're similar to gas gas. I'll stick with honda because in 13 years of racing for honda, I had 1 bad engine and it was my own fault for forcing a river way too fast the previous race. I've riden for the big 4 and only honda never left me stranded

I have had a Yamaha DT50 ( 2 stroke dual sport top speed around 50 on flat ), Suzuki RM80, Kawasaki KX500, klr 250, ninja 250, kz 650, katana 750, also a couple scooters. Now I'm back to yet another beginner. I think the kx500 was the only bike that was clearly not a beginner bike. Power is fun but???? obscene power forces you to make a lot of decisions very quickly. That is stressful. if you want to enjoy yourself most of the time.. .. I mean even if you take a big break from riding, you're probably going to want to do a beginner bike because if you make the mistake of DOWNSHIFTING when you meant to shift up on a bike that has "power" ??? that could be a big problem. warning : I have seen Hondas that were neglected that were not all that old ( no oil changes ) that really did get messed up!!! maintain your bike even a Honda. its nice that Honda did a GREAT job engineering all their tolerances and designs.. but .. please maintain your bike so some sucker doesn't buy a mess used.

So as a short slightly hefty male, the 250f for multi purpose 4 stroke or the beta for a lil more oomph as a 2 stroke. or or since i already bought 250f maybe i could add the beta to the fleet later for more aggressive riding. If only i didnt stop riding when i was a teen, i originally wanted a 250X but was worried about the power

When I see your CRF250F posts and the Mods you’ve done to it, it seems like your final product is extremely close to the stock KLX300 dual sport. 🤔 Obviously the Honda is air cooled. But the KLX gives you the better suspension, more power, ride height and street legality that you’ve spent all the work and money converting the Honda. Your completed Honda seems VERY similar to a stock street legal KLX 300. 🤷♂️ Do you have any experience or wisdom comparing the two? 🙏

6’ 185lb. Full on beginner going to spend my time on trails. The instructors of my class said to “buy once, cry once” get a beta or ktm. I took the class on a crf250f and thought it was fun, but I also don’t want to buy a 5,000 bike that I might get bored of in 6 months? Do you think the x-trainer would be a better fit? Or something else?
@AdventureDaily
4 ай бұрын
Brands are mostly rider's choice and Honda is pretty dang reputable. As stated in the video - do you plan on doing any street riding? What type of trails? For a "full on beginner" I would probably suggest the 250F, you won't get that bored if you search for the harder trails 😆 but if you just want a more capable bike from the box then go for the x-trainer for more $$
