It's always hilarious seeing the soldiers at our base making the KZitems and Tic Tacs. It's an interesting time seeing this new generation. You're doing better work for recruiting than any recruitment division has ever done.

Recruiting? I'm gonna sign a contract for years of my life in my 20's based on the food alone at a base I've never even heard of? Just to potentially go off and fight in some bullshit war so that some fat cats can get rich?

I was the USAF 1972-75. Most of our Chow halls were excellent. My lunch chow hall at Eglin AFB FL was rated the best chow hall in USAF. It was ran by a bunch of little ladies. It was no unusual to being standing in line with a 2 star general. We even got steak and lobster once a month. I never ate breakfast much though because most times I had to be at work at 0500.

When I was a newbie with the drafties in during Nam, well the Army Breakfast was about 45 cents and a 20 cent surcharge for the officers.

I wished the breakfast food at the Specker DFAC in Fort Leonard Wood looked that good when I was in AIT. We were not allowed to eat the omlettes because thosr were only for the NCO's. AIT soldiers couldn't have no omlette. The omlettes looked so tasty 🤤.

I took advantage of that everytime I worked as an MP. You couldn't get anything on the menu, but was still cool. I miss Bush's chicken. I also miss that Hawaiian place out the East Gate, and getting massages after a haircut, from all the Korean Barber shop's.
