Thank you so much for your videos! I think this is the low light video lens I need for documenting my astronomy antics. I have the Lumix 25 f1.7 IS lens for run an gun stuff so this will be perfect for tripod mounted shots in very low light. I also just want to let you know your awesome channel sold my on the BMPCC 4k. I've only had it a short while and already know I can't go back to filming with hybrid cameras. I've rigged it out with a cage, Samsung T5 SSD, Feelworld monitor and cable clamps to protect the ports and it's an absolute joy so far, love the menu system and the image coming out of it even though I'm very much a beginner when it comes to grading.

Respectfully, it seems like about 90% of this lens review is not footage shot with this lens. It would be lovely if you either increased amount of footage with a voiceover, or had a section dedicated to footage shot with the lens, for those of us who are primarily interested in assessing themselves how the lens performs. Love the footage you did include in the review!
@FrameVoyager

Haha yeah, I think the problem when I hit this review is that I had already done 2-3 videos with the footage and did them too close together so I ended up not using as much footage as I should have! Will definitely correct that the following time!

@@Ryan-Payne if you go for the Meike, I can tell you, you won’t regret it. Those are really good lenses for what they cost. For me, the only thing I don’t love from the Meike, is that they are really sharp (so I always use 1/4 or even 1/2 Black Promist with them). But in any case, it’s always better to reduce sharpness in some way (filters or grading) than trying to augment it in post.

I bought the 7Artisans 35mm f/0.95 lens and so far I like it very much on my BMPCC4K camera. I've also purchased the Olympus 45mm f/1.8, 12-40mm f/2.8 and 40-150mm F/2.8 lenses. In Rokinon 'Cine DS' , I have the 10mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm macro. For batteries, I use 18V Makita cordless tool batteries with an adapter and a DC-DC 'buck' converter. The buck converter uses 15-40v input and 12v 5A output to power the camera side port. I have a lot of Makita batteries and cordless tools, so the batteries are dual purpose and affordable.

This lens look cinematic because is a touch softer. I absolutely love my 17mm Speedmaster lens! I had the Rokinon and they look very similar when i compared them, the Mitakon is much faster for low light.

So I bought this set of lenses based on this and other reviews. One thing I will note is that the 17mm cannot have a stacked filter on it. You need to step up to bigger than 77mm filter. Since the BMPCC4k needs an IR Cut when using ND I noticed you will get a vignette/filter edges when using more than one filter at that size. Probably didn't notice it because of the quick release filter as it uses larger filter rings. No issues on the 25mm and 35mm though.

Cliff / Voyager Why don't you use a Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-40mm 1:2.8 PRO or a Panasonic H-HSA12035E Lumix G Vario 12-35 mm / F2.8?
@cliffberry
2 жыл бұрын
@@21stcenturyscots I have nothing against those lenses and I have 14-42 Lumix myself. There is a huge benefit in the 170-180 degree focus ring on cine lenses especially closer to infinity focus. Also T1.0 though a little blurry is about the equivalent of F0.95 giving some low light options as well. For run and gun or gimbal work the lenses you suggested are good options though.

Regarding the long focus ring, are we talking about 270°? or is it the same 180° as the Sigma art 18-35? since in the characteristics of the page it says to have 165 ° that would be very short more similar to the photo lens and not at all to a cinema lens I hope you can comment greetings and very good video congratulations

Ive just bought the set! with the 17mm im rolling with a 82mm step up using a black mist, IRcut and variable ND nisi and am getting some dirty vignetting. It looks like your step up is pretty big on yours. Did you have issues with vignette with racking all your filters or are you at 95mm or something? Thanks bud
