I think with the last one you mentioned, AAK 464 it is sort of misleading to say this can be an all natural candle when soy crop is a notoriously genetically engineered crop. Since we are discovering that lab produced seed is not inherently safe I think people should be aware of this unless the soy being used is not GM. Thank you for the video it was helpful.

I am brand new to your channel and I am loving it. I have been making and passively selling candles for about 12 years. I wanted to sell clean burning candles and chose soy wax for that purpose. For the majority of those years I have used the GW now AAK 464. I have honestly had great success with that wax. But also I can say it hasn’t been totally consistent either. It seems like some boxes of wax I’ve bought the hot scent throw was terrible and other boxes, same scent, the hot throw was great. I wasn’t sure if it was the wax or the fragrance oil that was at fault. I guess I could also say I’ve liked the 464 but always looking for something better and more consistent. I would love to learn more about these other waxes you talk about. And I am trying to really get serious about growing my business. Everyone who buys my candles LOVE them but I want to be selling more consistently, which is what brought me to your channel.

Hi Wade, great video for any candle maker! Especially anyone looking for their next wax to use, or even someone just learning. I use Coconut Apricot Creme for my "luxury" line. I use soy Bliss and whatever the wax at Natures Garden is for my usual candles. I started many years ago with the wax from Nature's Garden. I found it because I'm a skin care formulator first! However, I've come to love candle making as much although it's a huge swing in mind set, lol! Now that you've done your favorite container waxes, it is a must that you share your favorite wax melt waxes or blends. I blended my own. So do share when you get a chance to film. Hope your having a wonderful summer and that the weather your having is better than the 100 degree plus weather we are having! It's been just awful here! Looking forward to seeing your next video! I’ve found a company that is very popular and has the BEST HT (the wax literally last forever, 4-5 year old wax throws like crazy!) and the wax is very soft compared to every other “tart” type wax but it comes in mostly loaf form but also shapes (again soft, it has no snap to it) but it’s phenomenal in HT. I’m sure it’s a custom mix and I’m trying to figure out which waxes would help with making this type of wax melts. Pretty please 🫶🤞🫶🤞 LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!

I have watched so many of your videos. You're so helpful. Thank you for all of the great info that you've shared. Im just beginning and I've done so much research that my head is spinning. I have started out with the 464. I do like it so far but I've only made 3 candles and thats for testing wicks with the vessel I've chose. But im kind of torn. Ive made some wax melts and as you probably know this wax is probably too soft for melts. They turned out great but look messy in packaging. So I'm thinking that I may continue to use the 464 for an all soy candle but would like another wax on hand for when I want to start shipping candles and for melts and tarts. Could you share what wax you use for shipping, waxes and tarts. Thanks so much!

That mostly comes from improper wick type or size. Although some waxes make that worse than others. Pb600 is good all around regarding that. Of course it can still happen with wicking issues though.

Hi Wade, Thanks for the informative video. I am new to candle making and curious if you’ve ever tried the Soy 10 wax from California Candle Supply. I’m using it as a single pour, has a great ct and a great ht but I can’t seem to get the wick sizes right for the containers I’m using. I am considering adding beeswax to the Soy 10 but have no idea or guidance on how much I should use….curious if you’ve ever tried this wax and if there is a general rule for how much bees wax to add. Thanks for all you do for us candle makers!

Good morning thank you for your recommendation of Mp117. I love it but in my testing I get black smoke. I have the flawless vessel from 1617. I've tested htp, hsps , premier wicks and cd and cdn. The hsps and cdn had great ht. The others little to no ht . My vessel is 3 inch wide. I don't want to give up on my vessel. But with that being said. I love mp117 wax more. If you could recommend a wick I would greatly appreciate it. I've also tried zinc wicks as well. And at 6% fo and 5day cure time like candle science recommend. Thanks Wade .

Hubby and I just started our business and are still testing different waxes but only 2 so far(all soy&all paraffin) but I need a wax(blend or not)that the cold throw is good but hot is amazing? I'm so use to burning bath&body works 3 wicks and smelling them in living room&kitchen that I have a hard time smelling the 6 small candles we've made(I know small rooms for 8oz candles)to where when I burn 2&3 wicks,I can barely smell them! (not burning all at same time) I know it takes time to experience candles to where you want them(Im very picky and need to learn to remember it's NOT about me)it's all about customers and what they like but if Im not getting a great throw whether its hot or cold,I dont want to sell them to customers! My question is.....How long did it take you to get the throw that you wanted(cold&hot)? Thanks

No you're fine. It's all refined and your using a byproduct... you're not creating a toxic waste. All waxes have pros and cons. The farm equipment used on soy farms polutes to, lol.
