I followed someone else’s cleaning method and it literally cooked the apple and made it look like a bad apple when it was cut😢 I will never clean my apples any other way but this way my apples came out beautiful and not cooked. You are definitely the best hands down

How long does candy apples last after dipping? and how do you store them afterwards?
@DIYQUEENDIVA

Candy apples can last several weeks or longer. Store them bagged inside the cellophane candy apple bags and place in your refrigerator. I hope this helps you.💕

Hello , after dipping in chocolate , do you put them in the refrigirator until next day?
@DIYQUEENDIVA

No, because my house is always 65 degrees or cooler. You should be fine with them out on the kitchen counter unless you have the heat on or if it’s naturally humid or hot in your house then go ahead and put them in the refrigerator.💕

Is this method solely for apples bought in the store? Would this step be skipped if you went and picked your apples at a tree farm?

Question I have to make 40 candy apples 🍏 by next week. Can I use the red apples. Do I bold them and put them in the fridge overnight. Or clean them as I go.
@DIYQUEENDIVA
Жыл бұрын
It takes 24-48 hours to make candy apples the right way. I wouldn't recommend red apples, this is why you don't see me make candy apples using red apples. Red apples are sweeter and are harder to clean. They release more sugar than the Granny Smith apples. This causes sap on the apples which causes bubbles. Your red apples won't be as pretty as the Granny Smith apples. Follow the instructions on how to clean your apples like in the video. Clean them all at one time. Do NOT put your cleaned apples in the refrigerator. Please keep them sitting on your kitchen counter until you are ready to make candy apples. Once you have made them you can bag them and leave the bags opened to place in the refrigerator until the day of the event. Make sure your house is 65 degrees or cooler before dipping. Your house do not need to be humid or hot. I would make 40 candy apples either one or two days in advance to keep them fresh. I hope this helps you. 💕

Hey I did this cleaning method & I actually love it but the apples have so much sap on them it's been 24 hrs since the cleaning method how many days should I let them sit before dipping
@DIYQUEENDIVA

Continue to wipe that sap down. 24-48 hours is good enough. You must make sure that sap is wiped off good before dipping so you won't get any bubbles.

I know I do all the time. I just don't trust it although it says organic, but is it really organic? I know the grocery stores still be shining those apples up with wax so they can look shiny so we can purchase them.

Color to mix to make turquoise color or lavender color.
@DIYQUEENDIVA

They have these colors at Hobby Lobby already in the gel food coloring bottles to make it easier for you. However, if you don't have these colors lavender is a light shade of purple or violet so you can add white. While turquoise is made by mixing blue and green together. I hope this helps you.💕

What does the sap look like? I did the process and i dont see anything that looks like "sap".
@DIYQUEENDIVA

It's a clear sticky substance which are the sugars releasing from the apple. Just continue to wipe your apples down. Give it a couple of hours, you'll probably see the sap soon. Just make sure you continue to wipe down your apples good to avoid bubbles.

Quick question do you clean the apples in boiling water and wipe them down 1st then on day 2 you put them in the lemon juice,salt and baking soda? Then they are ready dip
@DIYQUEENDIVA
Жыл бұрын
No, do everything on the 1st day. Then let them sit 24-48 hours on your kitchen counter, but during that 24-48 wait period continue to wipe them down with a paper towel during the morning, day, and night. Then after 24-48 hours whichever hour you prefer you can dip. The thing is just making sure you get the wax and sap off so you can make some pretty candy apples. I hope this helps you. Please let me know.

I like that she only dips for 7 seconds and I believe, that’s why the ice bath isn’t necessary. I think when you dip for 10 seconds, it causes the apple to start cooking. So from now on, I’m using the 7 seconds rule😁

I usually do about 6 seconds and 7 is fine. I like my apples crisp underneath the candy. I don't like the overcooked or soggy apples...lol.💕

@DIYQUEENDIVA

Hi. Unfortunately, I’ve never used vinegar so I wouldn’t be able to advise you with that. However, I don’t think it’ll hurt because people do use vinegar. You can use plain boiling water but you’ll have to really wipe down your apples good if you don’t have lemon juice.

@DIYQUEENDIVA

Half a pot or enough to cover the apple. Just don’t fill it too high to avoid a spillover when the water boils. I’ve done that many times at the beginning but everything will be back fine once you pour some out.😂💕
