Australia has a nicer climate, wages tend to be higher, homes are larger, there tends to be more space, a lot of out door activities to do, immigration system seems to be kinder since you can get PR quicker, & work conditions (especially in the healthcare field) tend to be better. However it's really far from everywhere especially if you don't care for travel in east Asia (could be a good thing), cost of living's higher, not as many job & education opportunities as UK, like with North America you need a car to really get around, the Pound goes much further than the Australian dollar, & there is a very small African & African descendant population there so it can be quite difficult to find things catered to us (African or Caribbean food shops & grocery stores, barbers/hair dressers, churches etc.)

Thank you, this sheds more light on the situation. My family we are in the UK as teachers and are in the valley of indecision as whether to come or stay. We share the same 876 so I do understand your language. It's the distance from home really my give on this. Thank you.

Australia remains one of the most inaccessible destinations in terms of migration. Easiest track to Australia is study and with no real guarantee of a job post study. For employment purposes It can be better accessed via other continents. Even now with addition occupations to the skills shortage list, most are on temporary visa bases. In short the govt is still much undecided and not inclined towards opening to migrants especially from if not from USA Canada Europe

Australia is a beautiful country. It is extremely expensive in major cities like Sydney and Melbourne (though London is over the roof) and hard to start a life in the beginning stages though. Less presence of Africans in the country. But it is exciting once you've balanced yourself...

this is true nicely stated- I think the biggest contender is the distance but considering that most people dont go home as often until they are really settled in it is not a signifiant deal breaker for me - especially if you can split your trip and make a holiday out of it.
