Mixcraft never seems to get a mention when KZitemrs talk about DAW's and yet it is an awesome program and often available in music Humble Bundles for a very cheap price. It also comes with some excellent vst's. I was so impressed with it that I bought the Pro version and the only regret I have is that companies always overlook supporting it because videos like this never notify people of its existence!!
@AudioTechTV
Жыл бұрын
I’ve definitely included it in previous videos. I know 10 just came out and I haven’t looked much into it but with 9 a lot of the excellent VSTs that came with it are free or legacy VSTs that anyone can grab and add to their DAW of choice. I don’t want to make these videos “every single DAW available for Windows” I just want to give some choices for different workflows. I already think I include too many choices as it is and it can be overwhelming for people just getting started which is what these videos are kind of geared toward. If you are very happy with it, I’m not sure why you would check out a video like this unless you’re looking for something else or just trying to validate your own preference. If you’re just trying to validate your own preference, Mixcraft is great. A lot of people use it and love it and if it’s the best one for you, continue to use it and enjoy.

@@AudioTechTV I didn't watch this video...I only checked to see if Mixcraft was included because usually KZitemrs ignore it. I certainly am not looking for a replacement!!!😄

If not for HumbleBundle I would never have heard of it let alone use it. I use Cubase as well but Mixcraft has an awesome looking mixer and great adaptable MIDI controller options. Much easier to set up than Cubase but as with all things both have strengths and weaknesses. If you have any other DAW on your system quite often the vst effects and synths can be imported and used from other applications. Also the cost is very competitive and support very good via their forums. They also listen, something I often find missing on other platforms.

I've used various levels of Cakewalk for decades and my mixes always seem a bit harsh and I'm assuming it's just my ability (lack of) but someone told me that your DAW can really affect the final print down quality of your mix. What do you think about that?
@AudioTechTV
10 ай бұрын
The daw itself doesn’t really affect the quality of the actual render/mix down but the settings that you use in each one can affect it and maybe different dithering options if you are using the daw for that. If you’re rendering to an mp3, each one might have a different way of compressing audio to mp3 and different sound quality options. The plugins that you use in each one will affect the sound. Things like pan law could ultimately affect the sound. How each daw handles plugin latency can affect the sound. In cakewalk if you have the pro channel enabled on your tracks that will affect the sound depending on the modules that are enabled and any settings you might have setup.

@AudioTechTV Thx! I came here to switch. I think it'll be Studio One or FL Studio. Here's my latest track from CbB, that's an example... . kzitem.info/news/bejne/x5malq6sqISmiY4si=sldHdiIXl6aCVlFt

If you’re buying Melodyne, you can use it in standalone mode and transfer right back to the tascam.

I got a copy of an older version of Samplitude in a package deal with Music Maker. What are some of it's features and advantages? I'd like to learn something more advanced than Music Maker.

I've watched a number of videos, and everyone keeps saying that Cakewalk by Bandlab IS Sonar X (whatever) Producer. My last DAW was Sonar X1 Producer. I lost it to a house fire. ALL of the instruments in X1 Producer were FAR SUPERIOR to those in Cakewalk by Bandlab. Does this mean that going forward I can only expect garbage frome Cakewalk?

Cakewalk by Bandlab does not include all the same instruments and effects as previous Sonar versions. The plugins included with Cakewalk by Bandlab are just very basic beginner instruments. I’m pretty sure anyone serious about making music would be using third party instruments and effects anyway. I have no idea what they have planned for instruments and effects in the future. If you choose to only expect “garbage” from them then that’s up to you. I think what most people like about the Cakewalk DAW is the actual program itself. Mixcraft includes some excellent instruments. It’s not free but it’s fairly affordable.

I've been hearing that Bitwig is great for in the box creating, but not so good for recording live bands. Do you find this to be true?
@AudioTechTV
Жыл бұрын
I've only tried it briefly and it was a track limited version. I primarily record all of my instruments and vocals in and it wouldn't be my first choice for that but it can definitely handle the task. It could be great for some people though. it all depends on how you like to work. They have a demo so you can download it and see if Bitwig works for you.

I had Mixcraft. It seemed to look nice the only problem is it would crash often or get hung up so I left it.

There really isn’t anything too similar to GarageBand. If you like the Clip launcher feature of Garageband then Ableton Live is similar that way.

It's strange because they never talk about a DAW that for me is one of the best on the market, stable, good recording quality and intuitive called Mixcraft, maybe because it's German!!
@AudioTechTV

I have a feeling I’ll be talking about Mixcraft a bit in the future. It had nothing to do with them being German, I actually didn’t know that. I just never used it before so it wasn’t on my mind. But things have changed for me. And Mixcraft will get some love from me now.

No love for Mixcraft 10 Pro? Mixcraft remains the most disrespected DAW in reviews. I own a Studio One 6 Pro, and still use my M10P for creating music. It is the most user friendly DAW to use along with excellent Midi Samples for every genre of styles.

I’ve got lots of love for Mixcraft 10. When I made this video I hadn’t tried it yet. But you will see a lot more Mixcraft 10 on this channel. I also do the Mixcraft university videos for Mixcraft 10. They are over on the Mixcraft channel with a lot more on the way.

I have Ableton Live 11 Suite, Studio One 5 Pro, Native Instruments 14 Collector's Edition, and about $10K worth of VST libraries. Fruity Loops is not for me.
