Need a category for Best Minimum Storage Space so the industry gets pressure to compete with Glion's Dolly & Dolly XL's upright folding, luggage handle, and dolly wheels arrangement so we can get one that's more ergonomic and higher performance without losing the tiny storage footprint.

That's such a great subject. We've tried to come up with a metric for this one. The best metric we could find was to multiply L x W xH when folded to get the total folded area. I feel like folding handlebars are really underrated, but at the same time it takes a surprising amount of engineering to make electric scooter handlebars which fold quickly but also don't start wiggling at some point. Thanks so much for the feedback! We love hearing about which factors are top of mind for people when picking scooters! It's definitely not always about performance! -Paul

I have my own electric scooter channel and I've done reviews on a ton of scooters from Fluid Free Ride NYC and Minimotors NYC I'm good friends with the owners and obviously i live in NY, but I disagree with u on the kaabo 1st of all I owned the kaabo wolf warrior 11+ for over 3 years and it was a good scooter till bolts and screws started shearing off like crazy those black shit screws they use are horrible I had to replace the neck and the frame because all the screws underneath the scooter just ripped right out what a horrible design than on top Of that the bolt that holds the suspension in broke in half you know how dangerous that is I almost killed myself So fluid free ride ended up fixing everything for free because it was under warranty So I had them change all the screws on the scooter to stainless steel and guess what they broke again!!! The stainless steel screws ripped off the frame of the scooter. So I said to myself, I have to get rid of this piece of crap because not for nothing besides the dualtron motors and controllers the scooter is cheaply made Why do you think the wolf king gtr isn't even a 4,000 dollar scooter then My friend bought the king gt pro And the same thing happened to him with the screws shearing off. It's unbelievable how cheaply made that scooter is and the rubber suspension after about five hundred miles end up ripping apart So I bought better ones that weren't supposed to rip apart and guess what they ripped apart? So I sold that piece of crap and bought a real scooter, the dultron. Ultra 2. If you want to go and check out my channel you can I've done a ton a videos on it. Kaabo is crap it's just fast that's all. So I went searching around on the internet. And I found a ton of people who had the same problems I had It's unbelievable that scooter Looks good on paper and in person but its so cheaply made I'll stick to my dualtron any day of the week!!

very informative! My budget is $1250, i need a scooter for me and my daughter (230lbs combined) with a seat that I can add a seat for her, we ride toghether. 40-50 MPH. What do you recommend?
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
3 ай бұрын
Wow, that's an interesting set of requirements. Unfortunately almost all scooters are designed for single riders. The only scooters I can think of that would be even close to safe to ride with two riders would be something like Voro Motors RoadRunner Pro, if it came with rear footpegs (I don't think it's an option). It's about twice your budget though. I strongly recommend not riding two-up on a scooter with 10 or 11 inch tires. I just don't think the stability will be there for you and your daughter. Even adding a factory seat to a smaller kick-scooter and riding it solo at those speeds sounds scary to me. They can get wiggly in a hurry if you lift a hand off of the handlebars to scratch your nose or adjust your glasses. I would definitely do a ton of research before buying anything and see if you can find someone who is doing exactly the kind of riding you want to do. Sorry I don't have a better answer. -Paul

Those are both great scooters and very very different to ride. The Teewing Mars XTR is just pure instant power with great suspension and gobs of range, but.... it takes full concentration to control the throttle in the mode that gives you all the power. The top mode it kind of nuts. The Roadrunner RX7 on the other hand is all finesse and high end components. I felt like a total badass riding it around at night. It's faster than you'd ever need a scooter to be and it's easy to ride in any of the modes. -Paul

We have the GTR as the best value for a high performance scooter, and it's pretty good off-road due to knobby tires, super tall suspension and traction control. The Booster V is cool. It's the smallest scooter we've ever tested and we think it's also the world's lightest electric scooter, but I'd still put the Mosquito and GT Sport ahead of it in terms of performance vs size and weight. How fast does your Booster V go? Ours goes 23.9 mph -Paul

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide mine goes 25mph but i have the 10.5 ah battery version and weigh 130 lbs i have the GTSE and Sport as well and wasn't fond of the Sport since it seemed like they changed the acceleration curve to be slightly different making it more difficult to maintain low speeds. the e-brakes on the Sport seemed weaker than the booster V as well - though i think it may be a quality on control issue.

You should be able to get about 10,000 miles or more out of the battery. The first model, the G30 was known to sometimes use up the front wheel bearings, but that might be rain-riding related. Steep hills for long periods of time can sometimes damage controllers or motor wires, but they have gotten better at sensing this and turning down the power when needed. Just bought a segway ninebot e2 pro for its extra torque on hills and while its exactly what i was looking for ive noticed it has almost no reviews despite being a significant upgrade to an already loved model. Any plans to do a review on it at some point?

My commute elevational change is 1,000 ft. My max personal speed is 35 and 20 miles of my commute is rural bussing… so, small enough to go on bus; 30-40% grades.

That's an amazing hill climb on an electric scooter! Most of our range tests actually have more climb than that ,by the way! We climb 92 feet of hills per lap and our laps are 1.6 miles so a 16 mile range scooter has to climb 920 feet during our range test (but it also gets to go back down during that 16 miles, so it's nothing like climbing one-way. Wow! 30% to 40% grade is super steep. The steepest hill in San Francisco is about 32.5% -Paul

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide my biggest problem is a 5 mile 400ft end of my day climb from the bus stop. Right now im using a 1000w peak eBike 2017 but a 15 mile loop decimates the ride ability that last climb. So, Bus & uber safe (priority one); the “Last Mile Hill climb… Also, what do few videos mention battery chemistry & number of charges?

What do you have to say about the reddit electric scooters community which has almost 100,000 members, that doesn't recommend apolo scooters at all? Story after story of bad customer service and scooters breaking.
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide

In our opinion is people hide behind usernames and bash brands. When a brand sells 100,000 scooters and does have growing pains and lessons like most brands do , people mostly like to amplify the negative experiences and not the positive ones. In the beginning of apollos company they sold scooters that were OEM scooters and just rebranded them like rest of industry but the Apollo city , Apollo pro , Apollo air and Apollo go are all designed and made in house by Apollo. Most of the negativity towards Apollo as a brand is negative experiences from years back before they started making their own scooters.

There are too many scooters, it's getting out of control. Wish i didn't get a Nami Burn E Max. The suspension is goofy and way too soft for speed

Take with a grain of salt as it's a small sample size... but I don't think NIU should be only any reliability list. Friends with them are always having issues from bad firmware releases to overheating and tire problems. Doesn't sound like support is great either.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I'll keep my ear out for more. I agree with you on the early versions of the firmware sometimes being wonky. I feel like it got much better on the KQi2 Pro and KQi3 Pro, but were there bad releases later? I might have missed those updates. -Paul

I’ve built and rode every type of pev but a scooter somehow except a scooter. Crazy I’ve never touched one when I’d argue they’re probably the most convenient and practical size/skill requirement/performance wise. So many options compared to others so nice comprehensive list! Imagine how many hours went into testing all of these! They’re also pretty spooky since they make up a questionable amount of ER visits lately. This is coming from a dude who’s fractured his skull on a regular trick board before building 50mph eboards lol.

I think the number one mistake people make (myself included.... multiple times because I apparently don't learn from my mistakes) is riding one handed. Motorcycle one-handed? No problem! Bicycle one-handed.... all day long. Scooter one-handed.... 3, 2, 1.... crash! I'll bet 80% of scooter injuries are from riding one handed (I don't actually have the stats though). -Paul

Soon to be available in 2024 is the new e-TWOW TankTorq TK5. Hope to see a review of it on this channel. e-TWOW is the maker of Uscooters and the Fluid Mosquito. It looks to be an ultra-high performance scooter that weighs significantly less than its peers.

@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide

Thank you so much. We track average speed on all of the range tests we perform, but it’s a tricky number to throw out there without a ton of explanation next to it. The average speed of almost all of our range tests is around 18mph. But! I’m almost never riding at 18mph! It’s an urban range test, so there is a lot of speeding up and slowing down for stop signs and corners. My typical peak speed between corners is 25mph - 30mph on faster scooters and 20 to 25 on slower scooters. Of course on scooters which go less than 20 I’m just full throttle all the time, with the hills taking me down to 14 or 15mph sometimes. But if I say I rode a 60mph scooter at an average speed of 18mph people would think “nobody rides a fast scooter like that. But my goal when riding all of the scooters is to ride the way I think scooter owners would ride them. So I try to not ride them any particular way, but to ride the scooters the way the scooter wants to ride, if that makes sense. Most of the time the scooter will inspire a certain kind of riding. Our range test is probably tougher than it needs to be. It’s a 1.6 mile loop with 91 or 92 feet of elevation from the lowest to highest points. So it really punishes smaller scooters maybe a little harder than it needs to. But, when I arrived we had maybe 30 range tests on that route already, so we kept going. I’m always listening to other people’s reports of their range and have been pleased to hear that ours tends to be equal or slightly shorter than most people’s reported range, and that’s definitely what we’re going for. Anyway. I thought your sincere appreciation deserved a sincere and detailed response :-) Thanks so much for your support. -Paul
