People talking in rooms, I love it so much! So glad we have great dialogue again and not just direct quotes from source material. And I totally agree this fall out from Blood and Cheese was more impactful than the event itself

So glad you don't spoil events from the book. So hard to find opinions on the show without them talking about what happens in the books and claim the video is "spoiler-free".

You make a great point about the Greens not being able to properly express themselves throughout most of the episode. The only time they really do is when Otto and Aegon blow up at each other, which was a fantastic scene those two actors nailed it.

Daemon is obviously covering for himself.. He smirks at the scene with Blood and Cheese when asked what if they cant find Aemond. Its obvious what he answered, and how quickly B and C go for the child makes it clearer. He definitely said any son will do

I know I’m not the first to think this but it just came to me that Otto is the Hand and Cristen is the hand in all its violence, a Fist. Also, the shot of Otto being fired where you see Aegon II and Cristen’s fronts at the far end of the shot with the camera being behind Otto facing the sunlit window behind the pair…I want to see the reverse of that shot. Seeing Otto shrouded in the darkness at the distant end of the room with the light illuminating the pair’s back. The symbolism gets muddy but I think it would be an interesting visual. I’ve seen so many reactions but for some reason yours has me seeing so much in a slightly different light. Thank you 🙇🏻♂️

I noticed an odd visual counterpoint; at the procession, Helaena is looking up at the hops and I also thought it was a vision of some kind or visual foreshadowing. But then there's a scene where Rhaenyra is being contemplative and the camera gives us a closeup of swirling dust in the sunlight. I'm not sure what this means but the shots are only for the two mothers who recently lost their sons. Maybe they're visions? Or maybe they're an external manifestation of inner turmoil/grief?
@ImpressionBlend

I was also wondering what Rhaenyra was thinking in that shot, and maybe it was just to show their emotional connection somehow?

As being a so so fan of the first season, I am back on board now. The ending of the 1st episode and the entire 2nd episode was pretty special. Minor spoilers,.............. I do like the decision to tone down the violence or imply the violence or show it off screen. The sound design functions well enough to get the point across. If the show runners would have shown the brutality of one of the scenes in episode one just because it would have been edgy! I would have checked out of the series completely.

@@ImpressionBlend I like both Otto and Daemon. Each of them has their own distinct unapologetic style of dealing with the situation. Anyway, I think they are the strongest characters in the show right now. Rhaenyra - I'm kinda waiting for her to start making strong decisions and be the real Queen. Haha, I guess, I actually somewhat agree with Daemon about her. She acts like she is not sure of whether she's worth her position and should defend her right and fight for the Iron Throne with every means necessary. You can't be halfway there. Either you're full in, or you're out.

I honestly didnt LOVE this episode. I think its cause I realized I'm kinda falling out of love with Rhaenyra and the goodwill that was bought by her young version has kind of warn off as I've realized shes lost the positive qualities i loved about her when she was young. She REALLY felt like a damsel in this episode too. I know she can't fight or anything but the lack of even a cursory attempt at defending herself seemed so odd. Like I expected her to at least throw something at the twin, but all she really did was cower. I dont need her to be a badass warrior but I'd like some fighting spirit regardless of how it manifests, but she really doesnt seem to have that anymore. I just wanted her to do ANYTHING, but she seems to have lost agency in her own story. I think Rhaenys is my fav character now lol

I haven't read the books yet, so I don't have knowledge about addam and alyn. I hope they contribute something significant to the story and aren't just NPCs. I have to admit, I stopped watching this fairly early on. I think after the second or so episode of the first season... It became clear all this is ever going to be is really shitty people doing really shitty things to one another, endlessly and, well, ever more shitty. The odds of something nice happening, something wholesome, are, like, 1%. It's just a race of who does more awful stuff. Sure, ye, costumes are great and the dragons are cool, but ... I have had it up to HERE with people behaving like complete human garbage. Maybe it was a mistake to study history. I had my fill then, I guess. Slaughter upon slaughter upon massacre upon mass rape upon slaughter upon mass grave... I'll just try to spend my old age watching videos of baby otters being silly or something.
