I published an UPDATED & FIXED VERSION, check it out! kzitem.info/news/bejne/upd94Jl3rYt-fnY Corrections to date: - Finland 2017: Art Pop, not Chamber Pop - Iceland 2019: dark electro, electro-industrial, futurepop, EBM instead of digital hardcore/techno - France 2003 : soft rock first place - Israel 2008 : soft rock second place - Finland 2012 : waltz, first place - Hungary 2017 : folktronica second place (I don't know how I forgot about it) - Georgia 2011 - alternative metal second place - Czech Republic 2018 : hip-hop third place (instead of Spain 2008, that's novelty/reggaeton/latin) - Belarus 2009 : power metal, second place - Denmark 1963 : waltz, third place after Portugal 2017 - Azerbaijan 2017 : dark pop second place - Georgia 2016 : psychedelic rock / post punk revival: there is definitely psychedelic approach in there, since the performance was psychedelic, but I feel the resemblance of their overall sound to post punk, idk, I could be wrong - Portugal 2015 : should have been included in soft rock, I would put it in fourth place - Montenegro 2016 : instead of Montenegro 2006 in Hard Rock - Germany 1996 : should have been included in techno (the category is digital hardcore/techno because Iceland 2019) in second place - UK 1995 and Montenegro 2013 instead of Austria 2012 and Denmark 1997 in Hip-hop (couldn't find better hip-hop songs at the time of making this video) I also would add New Age genre: 1)Norway 1995 2)Finland 2012 3)Estonia 1999 4)Norway 1996 5)Sweden 1996

Nika Kocharov was more indie rock - or as it is called here in the UK, Britpop, an indie rock variety done by likes such as Oasis and Kasabian. Glad that Georgia sent an act inspired by these to ESC.

@Elaych the male mixer, ellastar, ect Yes, I've heard that he was inspired by these artists and that he is an indie rock artist, but from what I know post-punk revival is a subgenre of indie rock(Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and others) so that is just being precise, because a lot of stuff can be called indie rock. Psychedelic rock, however, is it's own entity, but in this performance I see more of an indie rock song with psychedelic elements than a psychedelic song

@@elaychscrazyworld4173 I was talking about Europe so I would exclude the USA. Now...Little Mix is a pop group that has some RnB style songs sometimes. Fir me RnB is mostly like what Alicia Keys did in early 2000s, Jazmine Sullivan or Rihanna sort of (unfaithful, take a bow...etc). Nowadays, European mainstream music charts don't really have RnB songs. Little Mix is mostly pop music (in the musical definition of it not the litteral definition cause I know the USA and the UK define pop music as mainstream music while european countries in general consider it as its own genre with its own criteria: rythm, instruments, composition, etc). So yeah, imo Little Mix is not an RnB group, it's a pop group.

I completely agree with this, I've thought a lot about how 'bondian songs' are easily distinguishable among other songs which shows it's a unique genre, despite not actually being a genre. Dark and dramatic power ballads in the minor key with an element of orchestral accompaniment. I would probably include Greece 2015, Georgia 2017, North Macedonia 2019, Belgium 2018, Albania 2017, and Spain 2015 in this as well, but Austria 2014 is definitely the best example, I mean it literally starts with a minor major 7 or the 'bond chord'!

@@insertname6057 Hmm I wouldn't say my disagreements on genre are huge or clear. As I said I find the genre field (and especially in ESC) too chaotic. I would never dare make a video like this and I appreciated your effort. Also your description clarifying that you struggled to chose genre for the songs that apparently included more than one made your work even more accurate. If you'd really like examples of disagreements (even the slight ones) though, I 'll mention just a few. Iceland 2009. I see nothing rock there. Not the slightest hint. For me that's a clear pop ballad. Romania 2013 for me is more operatic dubstep/ electro-dance than just pop. Turkey 2010 and 2008 are kind of ok in Alternative Rock but I think the folk/ ethnic element is too important to be missed. Also Greece 2013. I'm not perfectly familiar to the ska-Punk genre but the folk/ ethnic element should be mentioned again. Stuff like that. Nothing extremely off point. My biggest disagreements are about the ranking of the representatives but that's understandable of course. It's fine and interesting to communicate different tastes. I 'd also dare add three categories that are super-favourite and kind of crucial for my liking the ESC. ethnic rock 1 TURKEY 2008 2 SLOVENIA 2005 3 NORTH MACEDONIA 2012 4 BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA 2009 5 TURKEY 2010 6 ALBANIA 2011 7 HUNGARY 2005 8 AZERBAIJAN 2008 9 AZERBAIJAN 2019 10 SWEDEN 2000 ethnic ballad 1 ISRAEL 2008 2 NORWAY 1996 3 SERBIA 2007 4 SERBIA 2008 5 GREECE 1992 6 ISRAEL 2002 7 AZERBAIJAN 2012 8 ALBANIA 2019 9 BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA 2007 10 ALBANIA 2008 alternative ethno-pop dance 1 UKRAINE 2004 2 TURKEY 2003 3 BULGARIA 2007 4 ARMENIA 2008 5 GEORGIA 2007 6 GREECE 2013 7 TURKEY 2012 8 AZERBAIJAN 2009 9 GREECE 2010 10 RUSSIA 2012

As a huge Industrial/EBM fan I cannot describe the amount of joy it gave me to see that genre represented in Eurovision! While it may not be my favorite song, the mere fact that such a genre would get in at all (not to mention perform as well as it did!!) is really cool, and the stage show was AMAZING!!!

Congrats. You managed to make a great video and it shows the effort you have put into it. I could discuss some genres and some of your choices, because as we now, everyone knows best, but I wouldn't be able to put a video like this even with halve of the quality.
