In 1995 i found a ring on a beach . It was gold with a green stone . After 1 year it was sent to me the the local police station, no one had claimed it, my bestie loved it when she saw it and offered me $100 for it, turned out it was a 4 carat green diamond its value was 17K . She still has it now

I have found gold every where from 1 to 81 on my nox 900, the VDI is more about size and shape than the type of metal. Small gold chains will be very low tone while large thick round gold bracelets can be really high tones. Aluminum foil is another great example, small piece of foil is a low tone, a wad of foil is a high tone. Small gold nugget is a low tone, a larger nugget the size of a quarter will sound like a mid tone and a huge round nugget the size of a potato will sound like a high tone, Take that potato sized nugget and pound it into a straight long spoon shaped and make it kind of thin and it will sound like a low tone. Silver chains are low tones but silver coins are really high tones. So Large gold rings will be closer to mid tones, while thin gold ring will be a low tone.

All I can do is post of L&F boards and hope for the best and of course you have to deal with all the fakes saying they lost it but cannot provide actual evidence they even owned it.
