I agree with you. It seems stupid to reward someone with a million dollars just for lucking out and picking the right case; a monkey could do that. But you have to know your stuff to be on Jeopardy. You don't win by luck alone...it actually requires much knowledge about various categories. I quit watching Deal or No Deal when it was on the first time around because it's not as interesting (for me anyway) as some other shows, and there are just too darn many commercials on DOND. That show could be made into a 15-minute show without the commercials and delay tactics. I like Howie Mandel, but I'm not a fan of the show. Jeopardy is so much more interesting, but I seldom watch that because I'm not a fan of Alex Trebek because he has a way of trying to make people look stupid when they give a wrong answer. I liked the original host of Jeopardy, Art Fleming, much better. He wasn't overbearing. Alex wants everyone to think he's super smart when he says what the correct answer should be, but anyone can look like that with the answer right in front of his face.

That whole segment is PRICELESS! The winner should be a poster girl for "INTP" personality types... the "dorky girl who always got made fun of" FINALLY gets liberated! Ya just GOTTA love her!!!!

Choke. Choke up. You can also chock up, by placing wheel chocks in front of a vehicle tire to keep it from rolling, but that is not what you meant.

So apparently they counted "so spelled" Jefferson, but the 12 year old kid who spelled emancipation wrong on final jeopardy got it wrong, hmm.

CartoonWarStudios Likely because you were expecting Jefferson. And yet that poor kid that added a t to emancipation in 2013 was called incorrect. At least it didn't cost him any money. I'm still trying to figure out how this is the Best Final Jeopardy ever.

That large win of $79,600 was probably what prompted Jeopardy! to raise their Teen Tournament grand prize to $100,000 years later.
