Hi! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I am a 48 year old woman from Sweden and I don’t have that much to say, really😄, just know that I wait for your uploads every time. Immediately after buying the Nyx Born to Glow foundation, I was disappointed and not at al impressed. It felt and acted like a cheap and low quality foundation. After learning more and testing it out further, I can now firmly confirm that the amount of foundation you apply really matters with this one. (Hint: I was using too much.) And now I really enjoy it. Not quite HG, but I will very likely repurchase the next time I need a foundation I can travel with.

On the Dior foundation... any fragrance we are going to leave on the face (rather than in a fragranced rinse-off product) is cytotoxic to skin cells...that means it kills skin cells - which happens completely under our conscious awareness... UNTIL once the cumulative damage over time takes effect and the damaging effects become obvious... Any skincare or makeup company that adds any fragrance to any product that sits in the skin... well, all I can say is that the company's officers, as well as its board members, its marketing people, especially its formulating chemists - basically all up and down said company's staff members are aware if these damaging effects. Nevertheless fragrance is added to their products simply because a product that smells intoxicating, sexy, or whatever, sells better than a nonfragranced product... to unaware & unsuspecting consumers, thereby increasing said company's bottom line. This unfortunately fact is the norm in a society where its economy is built on capatilism...the bottom line is EVERYTHING. And all of this is done in the name of the almighty... $$buck$$$ and in total disregard for the consumers' welfare. Linalool is a plant terpene and has proven to be a an inflammatory agent. However, it ADDS a nice fragrance to the product, which means it has higher saleability which translates to an increased bottom $$ line $$, and therefore loved by many skincare/makeup manufacturers. Ditto for essential oils in skincare & makeup. Nuff said, I will disengage from my soapbox 😆, but felt compelled to comment.

I’m a fan of the Tarte Foundcealer Foundation. Please be aware though if you’re looking for a shade match between a Tarte foundation with Tarte concealer the matching concealer may not have the same shade mean because not all lines in the brand have the same number of shades. I think face tape has 50 shades Amazonian Clay foundation has about 40 and I Foundcealer has about 30. It’s a hydrating formula with a medium coverage probably buildable to full. If you have dry her skin is a little on the sensitive side this is a good one I haven’t noticed fragrance in this product and it has a unique pump that minimizes waste. I have not noticed it facing on the smile lines like some other foundations Ive tried. I like the faceless concealer but you have to use very little and it still looks very dearly and needs to be set with little bit of powder. I have found that I really like because Rachael texture of the L’Oreal infallible concealer versus shape tape which is a little bit drying. It’s supposed to be a date for the Born This Way concealer by TooFaced. I found this I’m getting older that the heavier the coverage, the LESS FLATTERING it is.

Hi Gemma: Please consider trying a new Foundation from AVON that I love. It gives a smooth Satin finish. Look for Avon CASHMERE COMPLEXION LONGWEAR FOUNDATION. This formulation would look well on textured skin with a pore smoothing primer. I have DRY Skin, so I lay down the First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer first...The Cashmere Complexion Foundation wears long, and is somewhat concentrated, so you don't need to use an excessive amount. I think that you would be pleasantly surprised at how nice this makes the face look!

Oh my gosh, are you me talking about the Dior foundation? Because there are a ton of things that should have me in the first class car on the train to Nopeville, but sweet baby Moses and all his baskets does it work beautifully every single time, even when my rosacea is out of control and/or exacerbated my the medications I take for my chronic illness. I don’t like to use words like “holy grail,” but if you forced me, that would be the foundation I’d pick to be the one I’d wear for the rest of my days. I wish on a foundation review You would apply each foundation, I know it's a lot but just hearing someone talk about it is not enough for some of us who are mature and have dry skin and seriously don't know which one to choose from because there are so many. I have dark spots and I really don't care if they are completely covered up, I prefer to use tinted moisturizer because I don't like the feeling that foundation leaves on my face especially in the summer. It would be ever so helpful if you would at least swatch these on your skin so we can actually see what they look like. And sitting here looking at so many and I can't decide. I have dry mature skin with fine lines and with wrinkles and I don't want something that's going to get in my lines and wrinkles if that's possible. I was looking at the stila choice but Ulta does not have In my shade so maybe I have to go to the actual store .If it's not possible for you to put these on your skin for a video at least give your choices in 1234 order. That would be most appreciated.

Hi Gemma I clicked on this video immediately as I'm looking for a new foundation. I'm 48 with super dry/rosacea and eczema prone skin, so theoretically something in here should have been for me. Unfortunately none of these come in a pale enough shade with cool undertones. None of the brands featuring huge shade ranges are featured, leaving someone like me who doesn't fit into standard shade ranges out in the cold. Many of these won't be available for the other end of the spectrum ie very dark shades either. Finding a foundation when i can't get samples is making it impossible to find something suitable. I am the palest of pale Scottish skintone with a definate pink undertone currently matched at 008 in lancome teint idole and Revolution shade 0.5. Finding something that doesn't look terrible on my dry skin, but also doesn't need mixed with both a white and pink mixer to make it work is seemingly impossible. I want to cover the pink areas due to rosacea, but I don't want a mask of thick foundation. None of the revolution foundations really work for me and the teint idole only works with a heavy silicone primer (smashbox) underneath, otherwise it's far too drying. Using all the mixers changes the finish of the foundation and never for the better. Back to the drawing board I guess. Best wishes.

It's very difficult to get shades that match a very pale skin. I myself have suffered with this in the past. No7 specialise in cool tones so you might have luck here although they may not be pale enough. Also the Stila Fair 01 might be a good fit. You should also check out Fenty who have an excellent shade range and the hydrating foundation is very nice. The NYX Born to Glow in 1.3 also might work for you, or the Born This Way in Cloud. Hope this helps. xxx

@@PamperedWolf No 7 doesn't have anything that even nearly matches, but thank you for the other suggestions. I'm the fairest of fair Scottish skin with strawberry blonde hair - classic redhead pallor without the extreme freckling. I'm basically white with the slightest of flesh tone. I will look at your other suggestions and thanks. Despite being quite pale yourself, the struggle for me being so pale makes foundation shopping a nightmare. I'm at least 4 shades paler than you and even foundations with 40 shades don't always go pale enough. In addition I'm 48 and not every formulation will look even ok. My needs are complex and I'm tired of buying foundations that don't work. Best wishes.

It's difficult to truly find a clean foundation as they are continuously changing the goalposts to what 'clean' actually means xxx

Hi Jemma for a long time I used Clinique continuous coverage however they discontinued it ☹️ and have yet to find something similar. Any recommendations I am 50 next year I'm looking for something that will cover broken capillaries would the full coverage foundations do this? Looked at zoeva but out of stock at mo. Would appreciate your thoughts x

I'd wait for the Zoeva for sure if you like more of a a Demi matte finish. Estee Lauder Double Wear is great if you don't have dry skin too xxx

Hi Gemma Is there somewhere I can google foundation shade comparisons ? I’d like to try the Zoeva one (I currently use ELDW -which I’ve used for years - keep going back to it!), but wonder if Zoeva would be nicer but no idea which shade. I never understand the cool/warm/undertone description as my skin is different shades in different parts of my face. There doesn’t seem to be a store I can test the Zoeva in person and I’ve wasted £100’s on the wrong foundation shade in the past

Are the only transfer resistant ones those that you specifically say are? Because some you said were, but then a few you said weren't, and some (eg Revlon Colourstay) you didn't specify. Sorry to ask more questions, I know the info must have taken so long to collate and I do definitely appreciate it. Thank you for creating such comprehensive content.
