As I sit here watching this with a shoulder sling on from a hard crash yesterday. tore something and headed to sports medicine tomorrow. I think this is a must have in my future. protection is good. hips, shoulders, elbos. I will be choosing one for sure!

yes, this is a review that i wanted to see. by the way; the alpinestars bionic tech V2 is rated CE 2 in the chest and back. after breaking my humerus in motocross, i have become more interested in protection. hopefully, someone will come out with smart air bag protection for off-road like the street/road racing models. thanks rocky mountain!

Hey guys, great videos as always. One thought: Could you talk about how each fits with a riding backpack/water bladder in future? Maybe just a shot of the guy all kitted up with the jacket, neck brace and a backpack plus any comments on whether straps or anything gets in the way. Thanks

Alpinestars bionic tech v2 all day long, that “floating” chest piece is a game changer for me, did not think it would make that much of a difference before I tried out the jacket. It’s really comfy and don’t even think about the jacket when I ride. Tried both the Leatt 3df hybrid and it felt heavy compared to the bionic tech v2 and not as protective either. The leatt 6.5 seems cool though, don’t need to wear the jacket if you don’t want to and just run the chest and back protectors. Seems kinda bulky though.

Thanks dawg! I was cutting through some brush and there was the top of tree sticking out into the hole I was riding through thank God it was dead because the top four feet broke off as it struck me right in the heart area. And more than likely it’s the elbow and other areas I’ll likely need more. Thanks for the video! Going with Alpinestars V2.

I wore the Moose Racing XC1 from you guys for my intro to Dual Sport and it didn't disappoint. For the price point its great protection, not mentioned here that much is just how well that armor will stay in place in that mesh liner. It really is a great deal. I found though, much like you guys mentioned wanting more armor and went to the Alpinestar Bionic V2 and its leaps and bounds better, as someone climbing through the ranks ... or thinking he is getting better... I loved the gear from you guys, and how I got to watch your videos and get gear that grew with me. Great job guys!

Would the Alpinestar bionic be good for downhill MTBing. I want something with enough protection without limiting my range of motion and that doesn't run to hot. I'm currently using the Troy Lee shirt which works great but it's too hot and very hard to get on and off on a hot day. Thanks

Leatt 6.5 or Alpinestars Bionic Tech V2, such a hard choice. Guess it would come down to which fits better or which one you’d want to be wearing on most rides. Any thoughts? Oh yea Alpinestars is level 2 in the front per their website. Think you even mentioned in a prior video it as level 2.

I like the 6.5 since you can wear the chest guard separate. Might be a really hot day when you don't want to wear the jacket. - Chase

Hi there. Are the weights of these products relevant or not really noticeable? Also Leary 6.5 vs 5.5 ? Is it significantly better ?
@rmatvmc
2 жыл бұрын
The 6.5 is probably the heaviest in this lineup. I haven't weighed them so I can't give an exact answer. As for the 6.5 and 5.5, if you want the option to wear a full body upper jacket or just a chest protector depending on what you want that day, then the 6.5 is what you want. For just chest protectors, the 5.5 and the 6.5 are the two most protective out there. - Chase

What is the kidney strap for? It doesn’t seem to offer very much protection. Do kidneys tend to squirt out on impact?
@rmatvmc
Жыл бұрын
The kidney belt is for added protection and support. Your internal organs are soft and vulnerable in a crash. A kidney belt also helps stabilize your lower back.

How does the leat 6.5 compare with the fox titan?
@rmatvmc
2 жыл бұрын
The 6.5 does have more coverage and I really like that is the hybrid design and gives you options. I really like that you can wear the jacket underneath and the chest protector over the jersey. Looks waaaay better IMO. The 6.5 also have more coverage around the ribs and is CE level 2 on the front and back compared to level one on the Titan. The only real negative is the price when you compare the two. But If I was buying a jacket like this, I would go with the 6.5. - Chase

Why should I trust a protective gear seller if he is injured himself?
@rmatvmc
Жыл бұрын
If that is your logic, then you should never trust any dirt bike rider, ever. We all get injured regardless of what safety gear we wear. Regarding my shoulder injury in this video, I had a torn rotator cuff as the result of a dislocated shoulder and bone spurs that were not the result of a crash. - Chase
