I personally wouldn't trust any brand other than Apple, Mophie, Satachi, and Belkin. These devices are too expensive to take risks with. While people like to trust Anker, they are a Chinese company and most of their chargers are not UL certified.

And maybe for the simpletons like myself talk about what some of our devices need because idk. Like the most an iPhone can take is “X”W, for your MacBook you want “Y”W, and newer iPads max out at “Z”W. Anyway, look forward to it. Gonna see if it already exists.

Thanks a lot for this video, I found it very useful, but if I can ask some questions here: 1. Are Apple charges GaN or not? So for the health of the battery, is better to use Apple's charger or Anker's one for iPhone? 2. When you this charger is 245 watt what does that mean? I didn't understand that, because after you say: you can get 100 watts from any of the 4 ports, so does that mean, we can charge 4 laptops in the same time, because each port 100 watt, then will need 400 watt. Or if you charge just one laptop from one port, can it get more than 100 watt if it need it or what? Sorry for this long comments and I hope to answer in two questions. Thank you again for this nice video.
@jammies701
2 жыл бұрын
Probably they mean since USB PD 3.0 maxes out at 100W, each individual port can go to 100W max, meaning if you used all 4 ports, you can get 100W from 2 of the ports, but then the other 2 would output a total of 45W only (in ideal conditions) GaN itself wouldn’t have an effect on the battery health, but I can’t speak to which would preserve it better in the long run. They likely have no significant difference because the iPhone will only charge so fast. Keeping it between 20-80% and charging in cool conditions probably would do more for the long-term battery health

What’s the difference between GaN and PD?
@Armin242
Жыл бұрын
GaN (Gallium Nitride), will charge your iPhone or other devices that being USB 2.0 Type-A or USB-C at the necessary wattage for those devices in a efficient and charge fast to about 80% then, will charge slower to preserve battery life span. PD (Power Delivery), is available in two generations and will help your devices to charge with overcharge protection. This will insure that the devices being charged, don’t have a fire hazard; also, this will protects the charger from catching on fire.
@dappadondadda100
Жыл бұрын
@@Armin242... so is GAN more of a fire risk compared to PD?
@Armin242
Жыл бұрын
@@dappadondadda100 No, GaN chargers are more safer than PD chargers. With PD chargers, most of them have over charge protection but, there is the cheaper PD chargers that don’t have over charge protection which can in turn, over charge your devices. Not only can some cheaper PD chargers be unsafe for over charging your devices, they are prone to catch on fire if you keep them plugged in after charging your device to 100%. If you're looking at a PD charger, make sure they are PD 3.0 or 3.1 for better, faster, and safer charging. All of those will have over charge protection to charge your devices safely. However, for much fast charging capabilities and being more compact, a GaN charger is the way to go. All GaN chargers, have over charge protection with either PD 3.0 or 3.1. PD 3.1 will charge your devices with more wattage than PD 3.0 and, will offer more USB Type-C charging ports depending on the charger and total output wattage you're looking for.

You know, I really wanted fast charging with every iPhone I had prior to the iPhone 11. From that point on, the battery life has improved so much that fast charging isn’t really so much of a need as it is a convenient want. That said, I LOVE my Anker Power Station that charges my Mac, iPad, iPhone and ear buds all at the same time.
