ColdScarlet I think they meant that Danger Days has a less self-interested concept, unlike its predecessors. It is about *rebelion* : fighting, leaving behind the differences and unite with other people in order to defeat something bigger than us. However, I underestand some people preffer more "selfish" music, music about depression or so. I like it too, but I think DD has a more transcendental meaning.

He's sensitive, insightful, concerned, creative, and just down right down to earth. He went through a lot of shit and saw an event that made him think, a job that challenged him to stand up to what was right and those being put down. From his rock bottom to being sober, relapsing and doing his best to get back sober for himself and his family. He sung and wrote songs for people who needed it the most, he said things for them for every stage he sung on that helped a lot of kids that followed the band to help themselves. Gerard Arthur Way and My Chemical Romance in general, everybody.

I know the topic of 911 is serious, so I don't know how appropriate it is to post (but I mean a lot of people are talking about his teacup so * shrugs *), but it kind of sounds like Gee has a kind of secret super power- the ability to absorb negative emotions from others and metabolise them so they feel better, but y'know he can't be empirically happy on his own.

I get that MCR fans consider 9/11 to be the start date of the band but the fact that they pester everyone on social media about it when the day rolls around is irritating. Especially when 9/11 was such a serious event. There are people who lost family and friends during 9/11 and the aftermath was even worse and for them to just... spam people with MCR is annoying.

According to the general publics stereotypical interpretation of "emo", Gerard isn't and never was.. he is inspirational, and in all ways against suicide and self harm. He saved SO many lives in mcr and as him himself including my life, and even though "emo" should never be an insult, I do feel he is so much more than just " that emo guy", not to mention he has said before in an interview that he was not emo and "emo was shit"... yes he had black hair, ( including white, red and orange , then blacky brown ) yes he sang about death BUT never encourages it. I'm constantly looking up to him for defying the stereotype "emo", and showing people that life is always worth living

"Why do I want to create something special, and why do others want to destroy?" Artists create, some don't like the money part of it - they just want to give their creations away. MCR were artists, but it's hard to make a living giving your art away. It's OK to make a living doing what you love; MCR did change the world, they were great examples, and gave hope.

Im 27 years old, and lived my adolescent years through these mcr years, and also witness the catastrophic aftermath of 9/11 not only emotionally but societal. It changed OUR generation entirely, it led to mcr being something I turned to shortly after as well. I still have the original cd from many years ago in my parents basement somewhere, but I still go check on mcr every now and then when moments in my life are hard, even now as an adult.

It kinda sucks how people only realize things (good or bad (specifically the former)) in times of potential danger, anger, sadness, and general negative feeling(s). It would be nice if we could realize these things without needing to be forced into a decision by a traumatic event like 9/11. To a certain extent, I honestly wish I could sympathize with the people who saw it happen, even just through a TV screen, as I was only 17 months old at the time, and I was also probably asleep at the time as well. It actually seems weird how once every year I am reminded of an event that changed our country completely, and that I, to a certain extent, lived through, but I don't remember it happening, and was never even emotionally affected by until 10, 11, maybe even 12 years after the fact.

I have been listening to this band since I was 16 years old. I’m 31 now, and I just had the chance to see them live last year. They’re amazing, and I find Gerard to be a really interesting and amazing person. I have also been a big fan of Bowie for years now and last year while I was watching “Moonage Daydream”, I confirmed how big of a genius Bowie was, he was a singer, composer, actor, painter, designer, and overall a really intelligent person. I’m saying this because I know G is a fan of Bowie and I find Gerard to be a really complete artist as well, he is a singer, musician, songwriter, comic author, artist, has created great concepts for their albums, tours and music videos. Also, he seems like a sensitive, intelligent and nice person. Being myself someone who makes a living from a “creative job” I find him to be an inspiration in so many levels. I’m so glad to have had the chance to see the return of MCR and to watch them performing live. I hope them to continue making music together, they’re wonderful ❤

Idk why but I sometimes watch this video when I'm trying to relax. The way that Gerard talks in this interview really is very calming yet very inspirational to me. I can without a doubt credit Gerard and MCR in general as something that has saved me and inspired me to do better. I am 26 now and I have been an MCR fan for about 15-16 years. Ill never stop loving MCR and everything they still bring to the music scene. To the person that shared this video, thank you very much man.

It's like Gee doesn't even wanna talk two minutes in. He seems like he's going to cry. Poor thing, it must be a hard topic to talk about.

I had one of “those” days at school where it’s not like anything notably bad happened and you were surrounded by people you knew but after you still felt lonely and just feel shitty for some reason. You just feel so out of place, you feel like an extraterrestrial life form among your fellow classmates. When I got back home I saw this video in my recommendations and 5:53 just makes me love this band even more🖤

I was in 7 grade when 9/11 happened. Gerard is 12 years older than me and he was also friends with my Uncle until my Uncle's death in October of 2011

i was in the fourth grade when 9/11 happened. i still remember we were doing a speech therapy thing in the class and vaguely that the teachers were aware of something that had happened. but everything else about that day is a complete blur to me.

Is it just me, or was hearing him swallow satisfying? Idk, every time I heard him swallow, I immediately thought, "I wish I could swallow like that." I'm not at all being dirty, it's just fascinating to me.
