I recently stumbled upon an article talking about that it's better to put hair masks on dry hair instead of wet reason being that the moisturizing components don't have to compete with water for room in the hair and penetrate better. I was wondering what your thoughts were on this!

I have the brigeo mask which I’ve used several times. I have bleached blonde highlights in my hair. I bought it based off your recommendation in other videos BUT I hate it!!! It makes my hair feel so dry like straw and it makes my hair SO tangled and unruly. I leave the shower with my hair in tons of knots. It feels like my hair just breaks off after using it. It’s crazy! I’ve never used a hair mask that does anything like this to my hair. Also, I don’t like the floral scent and it lingers after my hair dries (btw for those that are sensitive to scents). It’s a total bummer since it was so expensive!! but I feel like I’m going to toss it. 😫

Combine it with a protein free conditioner to soften the hair (if they blend well together you can use them at the same time or just use the conditioner after the mask). Your hair may have protein overload and your moisture/protein balance is out of whack.

Hi my favourite pre shampoo mask is the Phillip Kingsley elastisizer - an oldie but a goodie. Used pre shampoo and with a thick conditioner after shampooing, even my very thick, course textured, long, curly and highlighted hair feels soft and smooth. I find this method much more convenient than going into the shower twice, as I have eczema and need to apply body cream immediately after showering. It's available in both scented and fragrance free options, as well as normal and textured. My scalp also has eczema and highly fragranced hair masks can be very irritating. Best wishes.

My hair was semi damaged, so after reading some reviews; which were hut or miss, I decided to try the Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner. I'm so happy I purchased it from Sephora because I was able to return it after just one wash. I about died when I used their products. I could feel the moisture leaving my hair as I shampooed it. But I proceeded with conditioner then hopped out, then let my hair air dry. Suddenly, all my shine was gone. My hair was dull and frizzy. It made my hair feel like straw, and then it began cracking and breaking. I'd be too worried to try any of their other products. Gladly, my hair is okayish now. I'm still looking to heal the damage, though. Silk/satin pillowcases and hairties along with a boar bristle brush have helped a bit. Same with avoiding heating tools.

Debating which of the Alterna masks to try out. Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Masque or the restructuring bond repair????? Hair was damaged by bleach several months ago. Currently Alternating: Olaplex 8 Truss Intensive Repair Mask Amika Bond Repair shampoo/ conditioner. Formula 18 conditioner/ Enjoy hydrating shampoo. I would like to continue using Olaplex 8. but really wanting to incorporate a moisture mask. Taking a break from bleaching and cut off a good amount of the damage; but still dealing with very dry areas, mainly the middle crow area. Thanks to you I realized i never had an after shampoo care regimen for styling that helped protect or add shine and avoid further damage. I figured since i was not using hot styling tools amd only doing the heatless curls i could skip that routine. Boy was I glad to find your channel. I got a sample of the Briogeo don’t despair repair products at Sephora with one of my last orders and finally tried them out today. I have fine, high porosity hair, curly hair (medium to low density). I didn’t think the mask was going to work for me when I put it on, and it didn’t smell as amazing as the shampoo, which was super nice and I was surprised how much I liked it. But when I rinsed it out the mask and styled... oh my goodness was I wrong! I guess I really needed that protein because my curls have never looked better than they do today. I am sold. I just wish the hair mask was a bit more affordable 😅 (8 ounces is so small!) So I am looking forward to trying some of these others as well. But I can’t deny that it worked wonders for my hair.

She says the Alterna Caviar mask has a pleasant fragrance “but too not overpowering”. I read the Sephora reviews on the Moisture Mask by Alterna and all the reviews were nuts about the fragrance. If you have a sensitivity to fragrances like I do, bc they’re a migraine trigger I would guess these ‘luxury’ product are very perfumed up 🆙. I just wanted to give my suspicions before another migraine sufferer Ordered this stuff and potentially wasted $45☹️
