I clicked with Hwei so fast. I almost instantly knew what I needed to do in micro with abilities. I clicked with Soraka and Nami pretty well but Hwei, by second game my friends even noticed I clearly knew what I was doing better than I should.

I will try this 100% for sure @Azzap ! But I must say, after playing tons of games as Hwei support, that there is another build really works well too. And it's a build with an early tear, then Rilay and Liandry. If enbemy team has a powerful assassin, the 700 HP gives you a chance to survive. And Rilay is surprising GREAT with Hwei, casue you can slow with QW, QQ, even WE, plus QE with Scorch and Rilay's lets enemy more time on QE, and with Liandry's... One single QE with Rilay and Scorch hurts so much. Also, Rilay helps A LOT to connect the passive, for instance, in a WE+QQ, because the slow. The main reason for Rilay is QW, that allows you to apply a small CC with a great range. Believe me I forced a lot of Flahses just hitting a QW during a chase. Of course you lose explosive damage, but you are not deleted by a Fizz in one single combo, and in teamfights you have a great potencial with DOE and AOE slow. If you finish the tear, you are literally unkillable for assassins, or you can sell it and finishes with another damage item like Horizon, that I'm agree with you, is great with Hwei. I think I will apply your build if enemies are mostly squishy, but I'll keep Rilay and Liandry if I need more survive and control. Just wanted to share my tests on Hwei with you ^^

Just to mention a "new" combo you can perform with Rilay is a common sequence I use to apply with Hwei supp and it works surprising well: Starts with a random poke QW (Rilay) on ADC. If it hits, you can use that 30% slow for 1 sec to use WQ and move fast to the ADC, then EE (passive) then R and finishing with QW if you can.

@UsaElSentidoComun

@@alvarogallegojimenez9140you right about the sup guide. The only thing close was the "Sup carry" video. But on mobafire there's "notes" over each build that give a brief reasoning behind them. All the support sets are for maximum efficiency for what you're looking to do that game. But they don't necessarily go into the depths you may be looking for. Either way they are very effective in practice if that helps.

I’ve seen alot of pros build shurelyas first on hwei support (on sites like probuilds), I’ve tried your build alot and had great results. when I tried shurelyas into imperial mandate, I ended up doing alot of damage while providing even more utility to my team and while I obviously didn’t deal as much, it still felt nice, and the move speed from the item lets me position more aggressively. Some of them go shurelyas into HF. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks for the content, always very informative!

Check out how 5tunt plays - one of the best support players. He also got Chall in Korea lately and overall a good experienced player with a wide pool. He plays Shurelya Hwei And to add my opinion on what guy above said - only items to avoid generally speaking are Redemption, Solari and similar which don't have synergies with AP or Haste ratios. You could go them in tournaments or flex but overall items that provide AP or Haste for scalings on your abilities are better synergizing with your kit and don't rely on your team's kit (as example - something like Morgana with Solari can be hard to implement in Solos hence its unpopular - AP morgana is easier immediate impact, but Morgana with Solari or Vow is played in tournaments and flex) The guy above is too hardcore about his own opinion. There is no huge drawback in Shurelya - it helps you kite as an artillery mage and it's a cheap early game spike - similar to the same supp player 5tunt going Shurelya on Karma first item instead of common Malignance or Mandate. Ultimately there is no differnce - just see if you have success on your own when you play each of the builds

@@KittenCritters Shurelya's gold efficiency is better than the other mage mana items and also provides MS which is more valuable compared to a mediocre damage proc or seraph shield that gets wasted half the time. it also gives an earlier spike. TLDR you deal near identical damage while having much more MS and earlier/smoother spike compared to building a tear
