Hey Jon, great video! I live a block away from Rasoi and order from there all the time. I also work in the Washington Square area and never found Indian food that was comparable to across the street from my home. I love that you filmed here!

Nice i use to live in Jersey City for awhile. That area has a White Castle on the corner. I don’t know if it’s still there. That area is close to everything and transportation to NYC. I miss going there. I haven’t been there since the pandemic. Glad you were able to enjoy it.

The last time I stayed in the area I wanted to see if I could stay somewhere for under $100. I found a little hotel in Jersey City. The place was no frills but it was such a unique cultural experience.

Great video. I learned a lot about the different regions of Indian food from your guest. The food looks great, but I would have to stay in a hotel nearby to take the food back to my room to eat it. I love Indian food, especially mutter paneer. The best way to eat it is with a group of at least four people to share the different dishes.

Rasoi IS the best. There is no doubt of it. Every time I brought visitors there from the UK, they were impressed with them. And I used to live mere blocks away !!

If you want another little India you need to go to the Edison/ Iselin area in NJ. I think it might even be better than the jersey city food.

I'm a local. I just love the beautiful smell while walking down that street- so much good food. Sapthegeri is my favorite, their Samosas are amazing!! Sadly, I see gentrification starting to affect the areas very nearby there. I would not be surprised if it hits that part of Newark Ave in the next few years.

Personally I think East/West Windsor and the Princeton Area of NJ has some incredible Indian food. Edison is probably the holy grail but Jersey City also pretty impressive.

There is also a Little India in Bellerose/Floral Park area also along Hillside Ave. between Little Neck Parkway and the city line even extending somewhat into Nassau County.

But like we do- if you're picking up to go- have your friend circle around the block while you go in and pay for the food lol. Newark Ave is NOTORIOUS for ZERO parking lol. This street is also the most fun in the summertime

A really good indian restaurant there is called Honest. Their Bhaji is so good. It's like mashed potatoes. A little spicy though but they can make it less spicy upon request
