Well the odds are getting higher! Took my mate Tony today out to the port for some much needed fresh air. Tony is still recovering from his sugery but was super keen to give the Port a crack despite still having one arm in a sling. We had originally planned the trip for Hinze but seeing the rainy conditions and the predictions of a 7am lowtide we couldn’t help ourselves. It was the perfect combination for those river monsters.
On arriving we wasted no time and shot straight out to the port. Within 30mins I was bricked twice, the fish were huge! First one was probably a cod as it shot straight for the pylons. Second one probably a jew, it took the offer out in the open but slowly dragged me in to the structures. This one was an 80% possible win but unfortunately running 20lb leader I couldn’t put enought hurt on it so fell victim to the dreaded pylon 🤦♂️From then on I managed 3 more jewies, a snapper (released), 2 tailors (1 dropped) and a flattie. I also got wasted a 3rd time🤣🤣🤷♂️ Tony managed a horse of a bream and dropped two unknown.
It was wet and windy today. Despite the conditions we thoroughly enjoyed it. Trips like these are getting a bit uhm well veryyyy addictive 🤣
