Got the 140 Carbon plus Sheath from Varusteleka. Ordered Saturday Evening and delivered to my door in Switzerland Wednesday Morning. Great Knife and kudos 👍 to those 'Unhinged' Fins 😉 at Varusteleka for their excellent service. Doesn't do too well in the food prep dept .. but then, that's what Opinels are for.

I own this knife for several years now and i love it. One of the best handles ever! Because Varusteleka most times have limited amounts in stock you have to sign on a notification list. When they are in stock, you get a message and have to order immediately. The time i ordered my knife, they got 150 at one time and they sold out in 3 hours. Thats makes buying this knife somewhat exclusive 😁
@sergeytn6487

They ramped up the production and the forge is now doing exclusively Varusteleka knives i believe. SO that when you and i bought it, was truly exclusive. I got my middle model from the first batch ever. Now buying the stubby 85mm one to my kid who is soon 6 years old. Just need to file down the pointy end. If i don't choose the Mini Skrama 80 instead all together. i got the barebone Mini Skrama blade but that's too harsh on kids hands even with paracord handle.

Svetlozar is a magician with metal and a gentlemen. Well worth the wait. I have no doubt my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will enjoy these knives, but not to soon. Keep up the good work DBK!!!

It is still on sale at the @t. That is a Finnish webshop, the one that originally ordered the knife into production under their own brand "Terävä". Actual manufactor is Laurin Metalli Oy, very traditional "small" workshop since 1918, mainly focused on knives (puukot) in upper 3/4 Finland, also known as Pohjanmaa. Pohjanmaa has taditionally been the puukko area of manufacturing, most of the known brands come from that area of Finland. Best knives in the world, allthough Mora in neighboring Sweden is also very very good indeed:)

For me it is the one of the best overall bushcraft / survival combo knives period. And believe me, I have a lot of knives. One can find fancier knife but very difficult to find more reliable one. And I have some knives in range of 800 to 1000 $ US. The combination of hardness 59 hrc, toughness, thickness,weight, easy of sharpening, edge retention and list go on. If this knife, with its characteristics was product of some fancy custom US knife maker or fancy Company it would cost 250 to 350 $ US easily. You cannot find the equivalent quality leather sheath that it comes with it under 100 $ US.

It probably is the best option at that price, but... Only if you make your own kydex sheaths and dont mind a blade thats slightly warped to the right and resulting crooked tip grind (I have TWO of them, one worse than the other) The shipping and fugly sheath adds to the price putting it near the cost of a Garberg.. the Garberg also gives you a stainless or barbon option, plus molle/abs or leather sheath options, and.. it arrives in 2-3 days for free with Amazon prime (and free return if something is amiss with it) On the plus side, the Terava probably has the best fixed blade handle on earth being very grippy, comfortable and durable. I like the blade a lot too, short and longer versions alike. Its a little thicker than the garberg, but still slices well due to the higher/shallower scandi grind, which is also a bit easier to sharpen more like a ordinary knife. If you're in the UK and like ugly sheaths get the Terava. If you're in the US get the Garberg of your choice.

Seems like the price difference for someone in the US is negligible, depending, of course, on the options you pick for each. Stainless Garberg is $73 on amazon right now (with the multimount sheath); after shipping this is $78 (with sheath). If the Garberg is "better" then, even after tax, it seems like the better pick.
@lucasmachado9979
