Bro can you teach me how to read the layout/blueprint and how to mark the correct lines on the floor? And how do you know to use the inside or the outside of the lines when installing the bottom plate?

We could set up a private lesson if you want to just shoot me an email. I cover this over many videos, it is the hardest part of all to teach on video I find.

Do you use fixing/crimper pliers? To connect the studs.

Bro I lost my dam crimpers, I used them very rare usually when I could get a drill in to screw off. I am a structural guy at heart so I screw everything I can. But I do know there are tons of uses for them.

Any advice with wood blocking

Yes it's pretty easy when you know how to do it. What you want to do is rip your plywood down to 3 16" strips, then set the fence to 1-1/4" from the blade (or jest measure the distance from the edge of the stud to the flange), lower your blade height to only cut in the strip 1/4" (always use 3/4" ply for backing) then cut your strips evenly to 6 pieces (16"x16") you can then cut those pieces on site to smaller stud spacing. Using 1-1/4" screws try screw from the inside of the stud on the hard side and the front of the stud soft side. That's actually harder to explain in text form. I do really need to make a video on this.

@@ConstructionKronies thank you for your time. Yea it’s a bit hard to understand. The reason Iam asking is I ripped out the drywall and I have metal studs. I wanted to add wood blocking to hang a tankless water heater. There is actually two metal crossbars going horizontal between the studs that I wanted to attach the wood to. ( the studs and the cross bar make a box) What iam asking is could I attach smaller blocks of wood so I don’t have to worry about the flange or can I attach the wood to the smooth side of the metal studs?

@@jorgenorman8715 Just make sure you are screwing the wood in through both studs and you will be alright!

I get them through FBM foundation building materials, the caddilac leather.

Yeah, that was my son's first job with me and we had the whole job framed over 16 hours and 1 night in a hotel. I complete 3 to 4 of these jobs a month, frame, drywall, insulation, tape, and ceilings.

I would gladly take one if it was free. It's different for me, I have a lot of extraordinary expenses with cameras, computer equipment and all the services and software to run this channel is crazy.
