My first monitor was a Benq and I have been using it for 4 years now and I haven't found anything better than it yet. The eyecare protection is amazing on these things. I can work on it for 12 hours straight and it doesn't hurt. I tried an HP moniter once, I didn't last even a day in front of it. Benq monitors are just good. Even though the one I have isn't like 100% DCI-P3, but, I have it hooked to my laptop which is 98% DCI-P3, so It works for me. Thinking about hooking up a M1 mac mini to it now.

Very great video. I have a question for you. Which would you choose between asus ProArt PA279CV and BenQ pd2705U? They have usb-c, so i can connect them at my macbook pro13 M1, but the Asus covers DCI-P3 at 85%, the BenQ doesn't cover it. I'm undecided but I'm more oriented to buy the BenQ. Thanks for the vide. I noticed in another comment that you had this connected to an Mac Mini M1, which is what I'd be using it with. I'm curious how you have it connected, though - HDMI or DisplayPort. I will also be using it with an XBONEX, so working out which to connect via DP and which to connect using HDMI. Aldo, how is the audio output connected to speakers (If you've tried it). Any help would be greatly appreciated

I found you while researching this very monitor, trying to decide between the BenQ or a Dell UltraSharp U2720Q 27" 4K. The latter had some issues with M1 Macs (according to many commenters on YT reviews about it) so I'm very close to getting the BenQ. I'd need it for both video and photo. In FCPX I'll need a second monitor for the Preview window. I'm on an LG 34" widescreen that's .. not really that well calibrated as LG states, so I'll also be buying the Datacolor SXP100 SpyderXPRO to fix that once for all. But according to your presentation, I won't need to calibrate the BenQ, right? You go very much in detail explaining the modes, and if that's all calibrated from the factory, then WOW, definitely. My scenario is also lots of livestreaming where I need two monitors, so now that I'm getting the M1 Mac Mini (and the current laptop is traded in) this would be a great solution. Off to ordering, thanks very much for the video!

@@StefanoLombardoYT It's ordered, now I'll need to think of the DisplayPort --> USB-C/Thunderbolt connection directly to the Mac laptop (soon an M1 Mini) or to a dock. There are reviews stating that HDMI isn't giving the 70% of the quality compared to Display Ports..

@@matthewmace1344 Hi! I connected the BenQ with HDMI directly to the M1 Mac Mini and it works flawlessly. I can play with resolutions and all is fine. My other monitor, the "old" LG 34" curved is connected through its Display Port and then to a CalDigit Element4 powered hub, from there to an OWC Thunderbolt Dock and finally with a Thunderbolt cable into Mac Mini. I've even calibrated both monitors with SpiderX Pro and I love my working environment now.

@StefanoLombardoYT

Hi, no limitations as far as I know. I split the screen in half all the time to multitask and there's no difference in real estate. If anything you actually get more out of 4k because apps and windows are more zoomed out than 2k or 1080p resolution!

@StefanoLombardoYT

For all my video editing I use the Rec. 709 profile. Brightness can be set to whatever because this monitor does have a smart exposure meaning the profiles contrast and colors don’t get affected when the brightness is adjusted. Using the Rec. 709 profile, contrast cannot be adjusted!

Hey, do you notice quite a bit of light bleed on the sides of your PD2700U? How deep are the blacks from your perspective? I have a PD2700U and watching these videos makes me thing mine may be defective or something because my image quality doesn’t seem as good as peoples image quality from these videos
@StefanoLombardoYT
2 жыл бұрын
Oh that doesn't sound good. When I ran a dead pixel test and switched to the pitch black color, my monitor has no light leaks and it's the same across the entire panel. Blacks are deep depending on what picture mode your in. If I'm in HDR then the contrast ratio is higher and the blacks are really dark. If I'm in Darkroom or Low Blue Light mode than they aren't deep because they're not supposed to be. Overall the blacks are deep and the color accuracy is exact. I would reach out to BenQ and see if there's anything they can do because that doesn't sound right. Hopefully you can get that sorted out.
