@@SpeedCubeReview Wonder what those changes are… I’ve been using mine for quite a while already since I regularly buy direct from China - not just cubes but other household items as well… The current 12ui that I own is already such an awesome speedcube, so I wonder what other changes are coming to it…

Same here @@TheMessyDeskxyz. It’ll be nice if they make it so it isn’t required to have the cube in the case and pressing the button on the case to turn it on. Plus charging on the go is a bit finicky. Those are the only things I like better on the GAN 356 i3 that I have.

I just got the Gan 12 Ui last month from China as they have not released it world wide yet. It was very expensive for what it is but performs a lot better than their previous iCarry's and Monster Go smart cubes. The Cubestation app works but it's way too cluttered! It still has stuff in Chinese while using it in English. The graphical representation of last hundred solves is hard to work out your exact move count, tps, date... No ao1000 or more, no lifetime graph which would be interesting to see. Rating a solve should be possible directly on same page as the solve you have just done. The star rating icon is tiny and when I try to rate sometimes it goes into loading data because it's so small and the placement of the star. I could go on but that's enough of a rant on the app. The app with the Rubik's Connected is far more simpler, cleaner looking, more useful when it comes to looking at and reviewing your stats. Anyway It will be interesting to see how the iCarry S performs 👍

This will be announced, and released some time in April. I would not focus on the 12 as that product has been delayed but they are not discussing why. The ones on the market I am unsure about. The one I'm using is much more flexible than the older i3.

At this point, Gan is leading the market with smart cubes. I'm not complaining, but without competition, they won't have a reason to improve as much. So I really wanna see a few more companies especially moyu to jump in to the smart cube market.

MoYu did jump in. They actually had a really nice and performed better than anything else. The battery life was very short though and the app just never took off. It works great with Cubeast though. kzitem.info/news/bejne/xq19yGmugmhqZYY

Curious to see for how much it will retail. I hadnt used my icarry in a while, but last month when I picked it back up it's been desyncing too often for my liking. I wonder if it's just mine or if it's a wider issue, and I hope that this new iteration will have mitigated most of that.

@SpeedCubeReview

It seems to be the best approach to make the core as small as it is to improve the performance. If the battery lasts as long as it seems like it will, it should be a non-issue. Also, once I have taken it apart a couple times it's not too difficult to put back together. It was more initial fear of not knowing.
@Flib_smmh

@@SpeedCubeReview sure, if it improves the performances and it gives like 2 years of battery life. But I think that dismembering a cube is not something that most people like to do, and could result into a "ok battery's dead, let's change the cube"

It's more flexible and if it were between the two I would certainly use this one. If you already have the iCarry it's not a whole new design but an upgrade to the performance.

Something very important. When you pulled it apart what model number were the batteries? I'd love to be able to replace them one day and need to know if they're off the shelf. Also I'm assuming this doesn't have the gyro sensor? This is why I'd probably wait, I'd love an iCarry with a gyro, or the standard one with easily replacible batteries, although I'll probably change the lipo inside them if I can find them. All batteries should be replacible, it's better for the environment. I'm mostly curious about the GAN12, I have a Maglev, I think a different tension system was required but there was supposed to be a smart core for it. That would of been the best feeling smart cube ever! So far smart cubes don't feel like normal cubes but they've gotten better. The best I've tried is the 356 i v2, but I really wanted to try the GAN12 pieces on a smart core. Will your GAN 12 pieces fit this core? Also how did this feel compared to the other cubes? I also noticed there was a 356 i V3 now, have you reviewed that? Absolutely loved this and your recent vids, please do more on the smart cubes :)
@SpeedCubeReview
Жыл бұрын
I really should've lifted the battery up to look at the number but if I had to guess it would be the 357. This won't work with the 12 pieces. The pieces may be identical to the i3 but with a more flexible core which makes a substantial difference (as far as cube differences go).
@Commander_ZiN
Жыл бұрын
@@SpeedCubeReview I hope they don't give up on the smart core for the main cube idea, or corner tail peg pieces more similar to the GAN 12 or pro line cubes. I feel like the short tail pieces give the smart cubes the weird feel. However the catching you noticed on the GAN 12 that mostly goes away with settings and use. I'm pretty sure it was the holes in the tail pegs for charging that caused the catching. I'd love to see a battery replacible, without holes, mainline corner tail peg (whatever they're called) length, with Gyro smart cube. I'm happy to disable gyro for longer life if needed, if it could be enabled again. I hope they get there one day. Did you know or mention the GAN 13 has repulsive magnets on the edge pieces to reduce friction? It's supposed to be smooth, I remember you saying so and being impressed, but I don't know how much smoother than other cubes. I'd love to see a more in depth on the GAN 13 after you've gotten used to it. I haven't bought it yet but I'm tempted by the sounds of their advertising. It sounded good in your review but I was already pretty happy with the GAN 12 and it didn't seem like much of an improvement, but now I'm more keen to try it. Still on the edge of whether to get it or not. As for smart cubes, I'm happy with the 356 i v2 until something significantly closer to mainline feel comes along.
