I just tested both of these over a week. The one thing no testing can show is the ergonomics. 5200 hands down no question. with the BP to use the multi function button you have to press it INTO your ear, and the button is stiff. Painful experience. BP to use the volume buttons your pressing forward on your ear, tips the headset off. 5200 volume are on top with light button pressure. you instinctively use your thumb to support the bottom and pointer or middle to adjust the volume. voice control to answer or reject calls is epic, and the play/pause/answer and mute buttons are fantastic. Mute audible reminder only when speaking is fantastic. Add a chocolatoo gummy in ear piece in favor of the stock rubber and it becomes the most comfortable headset I have ever used. Can listen to podcasts for 10+ hours without recharge. actual call use does decrease talk time. HD audio sounds fantastic.

HUGE DIFFERENCE in wind noise reduction. Just tried the M300-XT on a bike ride. M300-XT... I have to stop to talk because no one can hear what I'm saying - and they can still hear occasional breezes. 5200... I can ride at 12 m.p.h. and some people cannot even tell that I have left my office. ...THAT is the magnitude of the difference.

Rick, Indeed... that's what we have noticed on the Plantronics Voyager 5200 is the wind blocking capability is superior to the BlueParrott! Thanks for sharing your experience and watching because it confirms our findings. 👍😂😂

If you want to know which of these two are best for bike riding the better one is going to be the Plantronics Voyager 5200. There is a Bluetooth headset that is better than both of these but it is not in wrap around the ear style. It is the Blueparrott B450. It is a bigger headset but we have found that to be a very good headset for outdoor usage again and again. It has the best microphone noise canceling performance of any of the Bluetooth headset we have tested in the past several years.

You aren't testing in identical situations. You should out one in each ear (since your obviously using different phone) and record both at the save time with the same situations!

We did numerous tests on both instead of just one or two tests. The tests on the Plantronics Voyager 5200 and BlueParrott M300-XT were designed to provide potential users of the products how it will work on various conditions. And with all the tests done on the videos you should get a really good idea on which of the two performed better or worse with all the tests shown. If you have suggestions on tests that you would like for us to do in the future please let us know so that we can consider that.

Thanks for doing this, very well done. Suggestion: wear one in each ear, and walk, cycle or turn round in slow circles? 'Squelching' out the background noise is not difficult. What the M300 apologists miss out is that the voice is distorted during speech. M300 is riding the gain up and down really fast, giving a pumping, gravelly modulation. I am tempted to use Audacity to make spectrograms ... You need to try if 5200 narrowband helps intelligibility with enough background noise to affect wide. Someone commenting on Poly's 5200 vids says he hears wind in his earpiece, but the other end doesn't. You said "There it is!" But we hear nothing. Arguably sidetone foldback monitoring should be accurate, but Poly being pessimistic is good: you can shelter or turn your head BEFORE it is a problem.

Wideband and HD Audio seem to be two different settings. WB must be the digital bluetooth bandwidth, since it uses battery. I guess HD is for music, speech may cut through better with HD off. You have 4 options to test. It would be nice if Poly Hub gave usage scenarios, rather than 2 tech options. Voice/Music Indoor/Out/Office? Contact Poly, they could explain it better?

If you're not talking, I might like to hear birds, crickets or sports. Could use another setting in Hub. Too many settings? Soon they will use AI to adapt automatically. Cycling in 0 wind would let you control airspeed.

We did multiple tests to make our video so that one specific incident would not throw off the results. And as far as we can tell the proximity of the boom had no impact. This big difference is that the Plantronics Voyager 5200 has 4 mics for better attenuation and noise blocking. The results are better call clarity. 😃

Thanks for the effort by putting up all these tests! I was also wondering which one of them would be the most outstanding, we have the obvious winner of performer, Poly! I just wish Poly would have a USB C port and longer hours of battery life! There's like a filter in BlueParrott that has blocked the voice which has resulted unclear voice being heard from the other side, Poly on the other hand seems to have a technology that could amplify the voice and hence made the voice a lot crystal clearer!

Right here in MY, both Poly and Jabra povided 1 to 1 exchange on the spot warranty for 2 years! Poly cost around 61 USD without the case while Blue Parrot cost around 83 USD. I used to own Jabra Talk 35 with noise cancelling function but when it was spoilt and I went to the distributor to file a warranty claim, they gave me Jabra Talk 25 SE and informed 35 was already EOS. I was disappointed with that!

if you wear glasses you will always have trouble with keeping the Poly from moving around and if you have the Wearing Sensor active you will have callers telling you that they cannot hear you. big drawback is the battery life for daily use is short for talk time. My time to return has lapsed otherwise I would of sent it back.
@WhatTheTeckShow
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. For some 5 to 6 hours of battery talk time is plenty. If you're going to use it for more than 6 hours a day I can see how that would be an issue. If you have the travel case it'll fully recharge it so you can use it for another 6 hours. As far as the issue with glasses it hasn't been one of the most common complaints on this device but I've heard that complaint before. There are no wrap around the ear styles that I'm aware of that are immune from the eyeglass issue. The better option here that would not present a problem if you wear glasses is the headband style like the Yealink WH-62 or Poly Voyager 4320 or the Jabra Evolve2 65.

Very interesting... according to the specs it's supposed to work all the way down to 32 degrees Fahrenheit. I would definitely call Poly support about that if the mic is failing at 40 degrees. I know that BlueParrott makes the C400-xt which is designed for cold environments down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit. The blue parrot c400 is a bigger headset but it certainly will operate down to that colder temperature you're looking for.

When you rolled down the window with the Plantronics, you were cruising so the initial sound of the wind was heard but after a few seconds, it was quiet and sound was loud. With the Blue Parrot, you were coming to a stop so there was no wind blowing into the mic, but your audio was too weak and was sometimes breaking.
@WhatTheTeckShow

Thanks for watching 😀😀😀🙌🙌🙌❤️❤️. We have a bunch of other videos with very similar tests on the blueparrott and Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC. On other tests we find a similar result on the Plantronics 5200 - It takes about half a second for the noise canceling to kick in and filter out the background noise. And your statement about the blue parrot is true The outgoing volume is weaker compared to the Plantronics. This is also consistent across other tests that we have performed. If you're looking for something as small and lightweight like the Plantronics 5200 there is no other Bluetooth headset today that does a better job or blocking out road noise and wind in this type of form factor. The blue parrot m300 is the next closest device in that category. If you're looking for something better than the m300 blue parrot makes the b350 and b450. This is a very big jump in form factor but does a better job than the m300. 🎦Check out the other video where we perform additional tests on both of these. This video has the Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC against other blueparrot bluetooth headsets 🎧. kzitem.info/news/bejne/y6GFmmiFgouQqqw

Don’t you think it’s unfair to compare a $200 UC to a $100 blue parrot. Having owned the 5220 Plantronics I can tell you while it was the most comfortable headset I’ve ever worn it didn’t walk it’s talk with noise & wind cancellation although if you were in a quiet environment the voice quality was superb !
@WhatTheTeckShow
2 жыл бұрын
John, Agree about the quiet environment but the comparisons are very appropriate for noisy environments because regardless of the price of a headset people will be using it in very similar situations (walking, driving, taking a dog outside, etc). 🐕🦺 As for the pricing is concerned Plantronics makes a 5200 model that is cheaper (around $100) and has the exact same microphone as the 5200 UC. And the reason it is cheaper is because it comes with NO accessories so the price of the stripped down 5200 Voyager Legend would be in the same range as the M300-XT by Blue parrot. Lastly the M300 is a newer model that was released in this year. Blue parrot released it and made it nearly identical to the Plantronics 5200. The Plantronics 5200 UC has been on the market for almost 6 years. And because BlueParrott has positioned the M300-XT to compete against Plantronics 5200 it was worthy of comparison and that is what we wanted to see...if the M300 would perform better than the 5200. In theory the newer model should outperform a much older headset with much older technology built-in no?

🎥 *Check out* this clip from a previous video we made using the Plantronics Voyager 5200. It shows Rolando wearing the 5200 headset with glasses. kzitem.infoUgkxqUswqUrsaey_Hv_9bQWoDHS8ahq6kUwe You can wear it without issues. Over the years we have found that the biggest variable we find when wearing any headset that wraps around the ear *AND* using glasses is the user themselves. If you have super sensitive ears the pressure on the backside of your ear with *both* glasses and earpiece may not be comfortable. For some people it is NO problem whatsoever. I know that Rolando uses the 5200 at work and home and has not had issues using them with his glasses. *As for the Blue Parrott M300* we don't have a video showing or commenting on the usage with glasses but we will mention that to the team so that we can add that to our list of short videos to publish. If you look at the reviews online on Amazon you will find that the Plantronics Voyager 5200 has slightly higher ratings around 4.3 on Avg and the BlueParrott M300-xt around 4.0. With that said the construction of the ear hook on the M300-xt is one is molded pieces vs 2 pieces like on the Voyager 5200. In the theory since the M300-xt has an ear hook with 1 molded piece it should be less prone to breakage on the ear hook portion of the headset. Let us know if that answered your questions.
