A sincere thanks to all of the the Diet Doctor team for both the educational and entertaining podcasts you have produced over the past year. Using the the different techniques shared by your team, in the past 356 days I have reduced my body mass index (my fat) in the past year by about 10% by changing my diet towards a LCHF diet and using the strategy of Intermittent Fasting (2MAD or 1MAD). Moving from Obese (how did I get obese? oh yeah...) back to into a normal BMI for my age was simple (not easy - just simple). I would encourage anyone who is here for the first time, just take it one day at a time and make the small daily changes suggested by the team. A year from now it will be you writing about your journey. Oh, and a special shoutout to Dr. Bret Scher. Your clear and balanced approach to reporting the science of weight loss is a real pleasure to watch.

Can't tell you how appreciative I am to have access to the real information offered by this podcast. I had limited faith in American Medicine before covid, but now I have almost none. Resources like this allow individuals to take control of their own health.

Dr Scher, if you haven't interviewed Dr. Amy Lee, I'd love to see it. She is the Chief Medical Officer at Lindora. Lindora is a weight loss clinic in California that uses a low carb diet to ensure weight loss and overall health. Lindora has been in business for over 50 years. Lindora has several clinics in California.

My Christmas wish is for Dietdoctor to do a thorough video on T2 diabetics who managed to reverse their diabetes but could do with knowing how all these things such as gluconeogenisis etc might be affecting us in maintenance. We’re no longer proper diabetics but we’re also not like people who have never had diabetes or even pre diabetes. Over 2 years into a very low carb lifestyle I find I can overeat protein such as bacon and eggs easily and I mean proper overeat eg I eat 4 eggs, 5 rashers of bacon plus half an avocado and I’m still not fully satiated. Why is that? Could protein be less satiating to us ex diabetics? I’ve also found that when eating all the protein I really want/crave for example at least half a large chicken ie half of a full roasted bird lol) with some broccoli for example for dinner than the next morning my fasting blood sugars are relatively high (105-110 even) when it’s normally hovering at just below 100. I just think things are/work differently for us ex diabetics. Would be great to do a video covering all the key issues. Thanks

I'm quite happy that I came across your channel. I particularly like the way you interview a variety of health experts. Protein is an interesting topic and although I don't really there is a definitive answer on whether we can have too much protein or how much is enough, I have settled on the formula of 1.2 to 1.6 g per kilogram and I think that works well. In terms of sources, I've been a vegetarian for more than 50 years, I do eat dairy but no meat, fish, eggs or poultry. I'm 70 and healthy and grateful. Keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍 👌 💪

I do appreciate that Drs. Simpson/Raubenheimer clarified the storage of amino acids (protein) to say that we don't have a storage organ for protein. I think it is wrong to suggest that the body does not cache these amino acids. It is really a question of the size of that cache and at what point does the conservative loss of this cache impact critical muscle groups and mass

Thank You Dr. Scher and your team for a year of enlightened interviews. The content has been tremendous. I found the discussions about the food pyramid - it's creation and how hard it has been to get the FDA to look at the value of the low carb/keto diets very interesting. Here are some topics I hope will be covered in 2022. 1. Sleep and it's relation to cortisol and insulin levels and how this effects weight. How we can use sleep to improve our metabolic health? 2. The digestive track microbiome and how that effects weight. What creates the microbiome and can we alter it to improve metabolic health. 3. More information on the psychology of food craving.

I truly appreciate the work of Diet Doctor team given so much knowledge of diet and make so much more sense than the diet heart hypothesis indoctrination. I discussed with a vegan professor, but all he can tell me is in one sentence is just the only thing matters is LDLC because fat clogs blood vessels, complex carbs is super healthy, and human should avoid fat as much as possible. No true reason is given, no mechanism is given because mechanisms are the weakest evidence of all in science. I got so tired from the conversation,. If not given he was a person with great personality, I think I would talk s*** to him.

My vegan journey ended when my system started struggling with fiber dense items. Having said that I believe a quality vegan protein powder will do. You will also need to supplement in some other areas. I feel Vegan lifestyle is healthy and totally do-able provided you your digestion and absorption is good enough and you are not allergic to lots of plants.
