I love this movie. Every Christmas and definitely during Covid. I love this movie because it does a thing that’s my favorite. It is sends out tendrils of a story line that weave around into all kinds 0f places and then at the end it comes all together in a perfect story. My favorite part of the movie was the Colin Firth and the Polish girl but every one was just perfect.

The movie was extremely well written and directed . A superb cast doesn't make this kind of suberb movie all alone. A couple of years later. Hollywood tried twice to cash in on the interweaving of relationships, love and loss. One of the movies had all A-listers in it including Julia Roberts. Both movies tanked. The cast were talented actors but the writing was muddled and there was no soul to the scripts. Even one of the best actors, Marlon Brando, tanked with several movies bec he couldn't recognize an inferior script. Particularly in " One- eyed Jacks". "Love, Actually" was a miraculous combo of script, director and superb casting.❤❤

I know that in the movie there’s the part that says, “love, actually, is all around” - but I always think the origin of the name is people asking Richard Curtis what he was working on, and he’d say, “a new movie”, “ah, what’s it about?” … “love, actually”

No offense to Emma. In my naivety, I thought Emma was old for Hugh Grant in Sense & Sensibility. I was furious. I thought, why didn't they cast Kate Winslet as Hugh Grant's love interest instead and Emma as Alan Rickman's, who also looked old for Kate. 🙈that was my view. And I don't think I have changed it even today🙈. Sorry🙈.

Making myself unpopular: Love actually is such a misogynistic flic I only came to realize after a friend pointed it out to me. The villainous secretary vs. the saintlike but too dull wife. The love interest which had to be fired so the prime minister doesn’t get tempted. Who was sexually pestered by a president and a) apologized and b) the prime minister only took a strong political stance after his love territory was invaded by another man. But at least he is going singing after her. And than there was Colin who just wants to f*** and the writers gave him three beautiful female f***-interests which in the real world wouldn’t glance twice at him. And the best friend who stalks the bride via his Videocamera. Because, hey, that’s love, right? Or taking on Claudia Schiffer four weeks after the funeral of his wife, because that sure is healthy. Or the writer guy who proposes 4 weeks after being betrayed by yet another villainous woman to a woman he has never communicated with in full sentences. Well. I was charmed in the beginning, but after seeing the above perspectives I am thoroughly de-charmed. Sorry not sorry.

I had the same reaction as Liam Neeson the first time I ever laid eyes on the woman who would become my wife. She was out on the balcony at a party and I went out there to get some air. She turned around and my jaw hit the floor, I've never seen a more beautiful woman in my life. Instantly smitten. Not so her though. She'd just left a relationship and wasn't interested in pursuing another right then. But we became friends. Three months later we started dating, two years later we were married and have been married for 46 years now. And I still think she's the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on.
