It blows my mind that over under are so expensive when they are mechanically so simple

For one, you’ve got another barrel over a single shot, pump, or semi auto. Then you have the receiver and hinge mechanism that requires precise machine work.

@@chevyon37s yea, I don't think people realize exactly how precise the machining on the action has to be for a good lock-up with no hinge slop

I really appreciate you reviewing the economy choices in over/unders. I'm in the market to get something that would make a good field gun rather than take out my Clays guns. Nothing hurts my soul more than destroying a beautiful O/U for lack of a more suitable choice. Thanks again.

I own this shot gun and bought it at $449 at my local gun shop. I got it in 20 guage youth. It fits me very well. I'm 5"3'. I don't hunt but I use this shot gun for clay shooting and first time out I got 18/25. I've shot about 300 to 400 rounds through it. I was working on a budget and it's a beautiful shot gun. Super happy with it.

I have had a 20ga Pointer Acrius for a few years. Over 1,000 rds through it with no issues. Works great, looks nice enough that I actually get compliments every once in awhile at the clay course I go to, included 5 chokes, and I paid $300 for it because it has a small chip at the butt end of the stock you can’t hardly see. I prefer shooting 12ga though, so my wife thinks it’s hers now. 😂 Anyway, great budget friendly, entry level o/u.

Been called crazy by every guy i hunt with but would love to see someone as experienced as u give some feedback on this gun. My Acrius 20ga in nickel finish is on order. Will have it by week's end. I'm looking to be the oldest rookie sporting clay shooter (75 and counting) lol I've enjoyed a lifetime of pistol shooting and wanted something that wouldn't break the budget, looked nice and was suited to the new hobby. O/U seemed the perfect option but I couldn't justify spending mega bucks for one. The Pointer line fits the bill.

Just picked it up this morning - cleaned and greased the action and happily the fit is quite tight The nickel receiver and engraving look great as does the walnut furniture. IMHO much better than the economical price might suggest. Mine was $487 out the door at my local gun emporium. Will spend some time while watching TV opening and closing the action to help bed the well greased mating surfaces.

Experienced a few loading jams at the trap range during first 20 shots of factory ammo. 3 separate shells caught on the rim of the brass preventing closure requiring prying them out of the chamber. I dunno, perhaps there's a burr?

I bought a Tri-Star Setter LT O/U in 12ga. I have run that shotgun for the last four years, hunting grouse and rabbits. I have had no issues with my cheap, turkish made shotgun. It gets me out to the field and I won't feel bad when I mark it up. I have a CZ Bobwhite G2 in 12ga. Again, I love that cheap, turkish made shotgun. You can spend as much money as you want on a field gun and it won't make you any better. I will spend good money a shotgun one day, just not anytime soon. Don't feel like you have to keep up with that one hunting buddy you have, the one that always has the nicest gun but can't hit shit with it. Don't be that guy.
