WALDEN by HENRY DAVID THOREAU is a masterpiece in itself. He was not only a great philosopher but also a poet and a transcendentalist. He also wrote several famous speeches. He is known as the greatest philosopher after Ralph Waldo Emerson. He was born in Massachusetts but he went to live near Walden lake in Concord and he lived there for 4 years. Apart from Walden he also wrote a prose piece named NATURE which included his experiences while he lived near Walden lake. When he was living there, he was asked for tax for living there which he refused to pay. Later he also wrote a prose piece criticizing the government that supported practices like taxation. He believed in reducing the suffering of people and taxation in a way was making life difficult. He is one of the greatest writer of 19th and 20th century American literature. I am glad you added Walden to this list.

Bro please🙏🙏 dont promote such things.. it is completely flawed. There is no way to explain this but let me try and give you a quick example :- I think therefore I am :- western philosophy I am, and i don't know who i am therefore i think so much :- Indian Vedantic Philosophy. Western philosophy comes from thought or the mind or its a product of deep thinking and it moves forward with thinking. They can never help you. Indian philosophy comes from realization. It takes a backward route and expalins whats the nature of mind itself. And whats the thinker himself is?? I dont know why u are doing this..But you can never get what you want from those books which you are holding right now.. Go and read mandukya upnisad for begining.. and for intermediary there is ashtabakr geeta. For andvance dont ask because i dont think u can or anyone from this current society and mindframe can understand that. Because our ego amd favoutism will not allow the extreme deep knowledge of vedantic philosophy sink in. It will challange ur whole lifestyle. But surely there are more advance vedantic philosophy..

There are many hidden philosophy books written by Arab and Persian scholars even Indian Muslim scholars of British colonial period, some are open but language barrier is something which is thorn in here just for example I would like to mention one scholar from Delhi whose name was Shah waliullah Dehlvi he was originally from muzaffarnagar but he compiled whole world order in his book, unfortunately many of his books are not published, there are many libraries throughout India who has his manuscripts... His Hujjatullahi Baligha is masterpiece, if English translation is available please do read it it is even taught in international universities maybe in Islamic philosophy part... Philosophy is that much effective that even the one who designed the concept of Pakistan was a great philosopher Allama Iqbal, yes he visioned a failed state but this concept was designed by him... But there are some caution, many thinking and beliefs of western philosophers is based on materialism atheism blasphemy so I avoid that part

@@DakshJindal Bro please🙏🙏 dont promote such things.. it is completely flawed.

Hey Daksh...I like your video because you talk about famous as well as less popular books .... I am so glad I found your video. I have always wanted to know where to start my philosophy journey. I've been a bit fascinated with all the works of these authors even though a lot of people make fun of my fascination with their ideas. They don't think that it helps anyone in real life. But I find solace in them. Whenever I read some extract somewhere from these books, there's something inside me that gets shaken. I wonder if anyone has that feeling too. But thanks again for suggestions. I will give all of these a try.

Few additions :- 1) *The wealth of nation* by Adam Smith 2) *Arthsastra* by Acharya Chankya 3) *Asthdyayi* by Panini ( Phenomenal book on Sanskrit language, was best in the world just 100 years back and even now it is one of the best on the concerned topic) 4) *Manusmriti* (might have some misconceptions because media totally blamed all the inequality on this book but this book talks about lot of things in very profound manner, read without bias and you will surely broaden your horizon). 5) *Kamasutra* ( its not just about sex , its about Kama(desire), nature of desire, how desire impact us and how to control desire rather than being controlled by it all our life). 6) *Four Chapters on freedom* by Swami Satyananda sarswati ( it commentary of Patanjali's astang Yoga, must read again it will broaden your horizon)
Popular version of Manusmriti is full of contradictions cuz it was distorted by Missionaries in 18th Century. & Kama Sutra? Really⁉️💢
