another really wonderful video by you, MANY THANKS! so many great tips in there! i also do really appreciate and like what you did tell us in the opener that this video is not sponsored at all. Often, i really wished i could use my after effect plugins in photoshop as well, i have a few that i like very much that does amazing things (like vom red-giant, video copilot, etc ), sometimes, i go that route, to bring the picture from photoshop into AE, apply the effect, and then back to photoshop, but its quite a hassle. Like you, i also really embrace the smart object function in Photoshop aswell, especially after learning to work in AE and go back to photoshop and to be able only to apply effects to layers in a desctructive way was kinda odd, but with smart object it did help quite a lot

You have to get your hands on Optics! My workflow was the same way. After making all my develop settings in Camera Raw, I would save as a PSD file and bring that into After Effects to use my Sapphire and other plugins, but now I don't have to do that. There were some images that I cut out of this video that I'll be putting in up coming video...you can do some really awesome things with this plugin! At the very least, get the trial and play around with it, and if you like it...use my coupon code...it works on the subscription (only on the first month I think) as well as the perpetual license.

I’ve been using iZotope plugins for a long time...I use them on almost every project. I used to use Ozone on my master on every project, but I’ve been using a lot more Universal Audio plugins lately to learn mixing and mastering. Always let me know if you have any questions.

@@beMOTIONdESIGN very true, my ozone also lives too on the masterbus, UAD-2 plugins are great, i love them, i have 20 UAD- DSP cores in my system, so i count myself as heavy addicted :D what are your favorite UADs? i really dig the Distressor, Culture Vulture, Helios 69, the 1176 but the 176 are great too, and reverbs are great, like the EMT140 and Capitol Chambers and so many more to list all of them. Are you member of the unofficual UAD Forum too? you will find me there under the name "exoslime"

can you add background blur/bokeh to an image?
@beMOTIONdESIGN

Yes but you’ll need to create a mask so it doesn’t create the blur on the whole image.

@@beMOTIONdESIGN Thanks! Many people could use this. Shooting DX with average aperture lenses. Could you demo doing that on an image that has very little bokeh and/or blackground blur ...like a DX 35mm (50mm equivalent) at f5.6 with a subject 15' away on a street or even in a parking lot or similar so we could see how well it works?

What do you mean "Shooting DX"?

@@beMOTIONdESIGN Using a crop sensor camera. (DX vs FX). With those the native blur is reduced. My understanding is that f1.2 on a crop sensor is like f1.8 on a full frame. So f5.6 on a crop sensor is like f11 on a full frame. If the subject is at a distance ...everything is in focus. I shoot events and sports and am always creating background blur in post to isolate the subjects. eg. soccer players, polo players, etc. When people buy prints they like to see the subject isolated from the background as much as possible. I make actions to run in Photoshop and I do get there but this plugin looks interesting and I'd like to know what the possibilities are for isolating subjects on blurry backgrounds that start out as in-focus backgrounds.
