Can't say ist better. Thanks Drex. Since this summer i am a poi beginner. And i am so in love with them. I started with flags , and cloth Pois. Ordering my new LED Pois at ultraPoi was my best decision to have the most fun with start learning

I mostly spin with some very short poi (tech poi length) and a few days ago, I picked up some sock poi that were almost 3x the size, like if I did an extension they would hit the floor. It was really cool, felt like a lot of my skills transferred but a very unique experience

When I started spinning poi in high school, I started with sock poi, but high school kids with juvenile senses of humor kept purposefully getting the wrong idea about them so I got LED poi for like $10 off Amazon. 😅 I doubt I have to tell anyone reading how quickly those broke, but now I was of the mind that I wanted something flashy, but still durable. Anyway I looked all over, and couldn't find anything for awhile untilI found out a couple years later that Chuckit makes glow in the dark dog balls! Fast forward a couple more years and many failed petco searches later, I now have a pair of practice poi that don't sacrifice on the looks! Sure I could definitely do with some rope of a better color (they're currently in purple right now) but I'm happy with the effect. It's been awhile since I've outgrown the nutshots while practicing butterflies, so I don't know how unforgiving they are in that department but they're heavier than tennis balls so count on it hurting a little more, that being said though, they're also softer so head shots aren't such a big deal.

Thanks for all the great info. I've just started learning and your videos and tutorials are super helpful! Any recommendation on a good weight for poi? The cheap ones I grabbed off Amazon are about 60g per head. It feels super light, like I have to spin faster just to get them around, which is counterproductive to learning. Thanks again!

Once you said sock poi is the best option in learning, cause you cannot fake mistakes in plains or stalls. I think they are good choice. I don't spin at night. Hitting myself still hurts.

Ahh, I just can't keep my stupid remarks to myself - but you can set just about any set of poi on fire. Once. (And yes, you might have to try pretty hard with some of them, and no, I wouldn't recommend it 😉)
