I have to vouch for the Cicaplast cream, which has been a god send for my redness. I’ve tried other products geared toward fighting redness, such as the Cetaphil Redness Relieving Night Moisturizer and Missha Artemesia essence. And while I love these as moisturizing products, I did not notice less redness with use. The Cicaplast cream however calms it down for me in about 20 minutes! Highly recommend for anyone dealing with redness and sensitivity.

Thank you so much dr dray!!! Just wanted to share that I messed up my skin barrier from using retinoids incorrectly and my skin felt like sandpaper- tiny bumps, blotchy, redness and it stings when i wash my face. I followed her instruction on repairing skin barrier: Switched to a gentle cleanser, used cold water, used Avene Cicalfate and then sealed it in using aquaphor/vaseline. Visibly improved my skin overnight and skin back to normal after 5 days!! I went to the GP a week ago and they didnt help, and I dont have access to a dermatologist yet so having Dr. Dray on youtube giving out solid advice seriously helps not just my skin but also my mental health. I was feeling so low last week 😭

Just used the Stelatopia emollient face cream as my PM moisturiser and I love it so far. Didn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all. And it was fine overtop of my other products. And it’s so cheap in Australia. Less than $10 for the Mustela. Edit: I absolutely LOVE the Cicaplast Baume B5. Works amazing with Tretinoin.

Thanks for this useful list. On a side note I will encourage retinol users to be sure that they allow time for moisturizer to absorb into skin before applying retinol. Otherwise it’s easy for products to mix unevenly and deposit too much retinol in spots on face. These healing products should help with this but just a quick note to avoid creating problems :-)

Right on time. I think I had some scarring from facial steaming. Gonna throw that away. My skin is very dry and I probably was too close to it and the eye skin can be sensitive so I'm just gonna be safe altogether and leave it alone. But I've been trying what to use to heal the skin so the texture can return to normal. Though it's been two weeks (I was trying to trace back to what could have caused it and feel I now have the culprit) I believe in GODS design and the skins ability to heal itself (with necessary assistance ofc) so I used petroleum jelly last night and feel it's gotten better. I'll add aloe Vera and then the petroleum on top and continue this and see what happens. I've actually not even watched the video yet but about to. May get some recommendations too. You MUST have read a comment I left on one of your maskne videos!!! I am so glad to see this today because my face is so rough and has been on the verge of peeling for days. There is literally a white line around my face where I did not use adapalene and the rest of my face is so red from the burn it caused. I can't believe it has lasted a week though. I feel like a complete dope for using it on my entire face, without knowing it could cause a burn. And also for not knowing that what I thought was maskne was a build up of yeast and not a break out of acne (when I rarely have more than a zit or 2 a month). Should have known because I have an autoimmune disease and all the weird stuff, like yeast overgrowth from wearing a mask, is no surprise.

@@jenjohnson492 oddly enough, it was to use anti-dandruff shampoo. Specifically one that contained 1 of 2 different chemicals that I can't recall. I found one in Head and Shoulders shampoo. Bought a travel size bottle and used it on my face. Worked within an hour or 2, at the most. I have only needed to use it once since. Of course I also burned the hell out of my skin the process from putting adapalene gel (Differin) on it. The Head and Shoulders was a lot cheaper, actually worked, and didn't do any damage to my skin. I just forget that I'm on high dose steroids due to an autoimmune disease so I get the really weird stuff. Especially if it involves the overgrowth of Candida (yeast) that can be present on the skin.

My skin needs these kinds of products pretty much every winter just due to the dryness and indoor heat. I usually use Aveeno cica balm or cerave healing ointment, but just put the la Roche Posay and Aveeno itch relief balm in my Amazon cart to try just to see how they compare. Happy New Year everyone!! 🎉

Thank you for this video and thank you for including a cruelty-free option for those of us who make our skincare decisions based on that factor. I really appreciate the inclusion of the Mustela brand!

Thank you from Colorado where it's high altitude sunny, windy, cold & dry. I go through moisturizers like crazy! I'm going to try some of these barrier protectors this winter.

Congratulations on reaching 1M subscribers! (I've been a fan for years.) And, yes, I do have extra-dry skin on my legs and arms. I have learned to put on CeraVe after showering + Altruist and/or Eucerin sunscreen. I also use Aveeno Eczema Therapy a few times a week on those areas, too.

I used that Aveeno Itch Relief balm to relieve itching I had from a minor skin irritation under my breast and it burned the skin and exacerbated rather than alleviated the problem.

Hearing that a lot of people other than myself have non specific facial itch was so enlightening. It has gotten much better since learning so much from you. I recently got the Cera Ve anti itch cream with pramoxine that you mentioned before. It lowers my stress just to have that as a back up for particularly bad nights. Would daily long term use down regulate receptors for itch leading to rebound itch if discontinued?

How do you like the CeraVe itch relief? It work pretty quick for you? Do you notice how long it lasts? Thinking about grabbing the CeraVe or Aveeno for the backs of my hands. Dang allergens in sanitizers!

It helps in a few minutes, but it doesn’t stop it completely. It’s enough better, that it’s worth it. I layer it over other moisturizer. The feel of the cream isn’t bad at all though. It might work better for an actual rash.
