I could tell who the culprit would be from the very start and it became more evident as the race progressed. This really is one of the best types of pure driver skill based racing though. No electronic assists, traction control, paddle shift, auto-blip, pit stop strategy, balance of performance adjustments and such.

Wow! Lot’s of aggressive, respectful racing. A bad decision on last lap tho. I was surprised after the grey car (p1) wiggled on the last lap that he wasn’t passed. Also noticed some racers didn’t seem aware that the leaders were approaching, particularly lap 9. Good race, thx for posting

Awesome racing, sir. Competitive and clean all the way to second to last corner. Could have been a great win though. I've raced these cars in iRacing and they are so much fun. A bit tail happy off throttle but buckets of fun once you get the hang of them. Too bad we don't get them in Europe.

wow, i just found out about this. very interesting class of racing. also i have a question: the clutch throw appear to be very short at the pedal. is this a electromecanical clutch or a normal cable or hydraulic operated one? i have read on Wiki that this class use normal car engine that are slightly modded and are added unto a purpose build chassis.
@Racer_X

Francois Dupont yep that’s all accurate. Clutch is standard hydraulic.

@@Racer_X thank you very much. i have a 17yo manual car and most of the lower gear syncho are worn on it. it is surprising to see you quick shift like this. do you notice any wear after a couple of race? manual transmission normally dont have any cooling do they get hot racing like this?

great race except for the bit at the end! no real fault that I saw...looked like you were 7/8 by and tried to turn in...he should have conceded the corner but...would you have? LOL excellent driving by all parties though. love watching you guys and spec miatas. true driving really shows.
@BollocksUtwat
8 жыл бұрын
*would you have?* From watching his other races I'd suggest he probably would not have and if he wanted to press the corner he would have been further along side and he seems to have really good braking and gains a huge lead on people in braking zones, rather than simply overcooking the corner and hoping it sticks by bouncing off someone else. That was a pretty crummy dive bomb though since it had no chance of working out in the end. The part of the track it happened at was just too perilous. The top of the rollercoaster with that move meant at least one car was being knocked off the road and the passing driver isn't gonna expect the guy 7/8th ahead of him is gonna back out on the last lap either. I think that was an adrenaline induced choice by the Trump car.
@evandarling699
8 жыл бұрын
true but if I was where he was, just a bit back on the draft pass I would have probably not tried to push the issue as hard if I absolutely knew it would end in heartache. I was not in the race so I can't really judge, but I have been in similar circumstances many times in that very corner. I'm usually driving someone else's car so I would have probably backed off and not tried to push past with the drive he had and the trust needed to make that one work...

Rules say that Denny needs to be given racing room meaning space to drive. He was not given that.

+Phantom9192 BTW we have a bunch of national championship level karters who come into this class and are very good. The leader of lap 1 is one example, and I believe the driver of the gray car I battle with most of the race is also a current karter in South Carolina but I'm not 100% certain on that.

well actually I come from cars myself, originally I ran the Spec 944 series but I got into karting because it was a lot less expensive, a lot more faster, very good competition and a lot less politics. admittingly though this does seem like a lot of fun and probably better then production car stuff

Do you know where the guy who gets run off track at around 16 minutes ends up finishing? Also it looks like your car was a bit underpowered compared to others, just seems like you could keep up due to draft effects but once you got in front you couldn't stay there long compared to the others, don't know if it's true but I couldn't help but have that feeling. Great racing though.

+BrettMKW Hey Brett, my motor is very close to the others I think. Mine's still technically within the 'break-in' period in that it may have 5-10 more hours before it's expected to be at 100%, but the variances in these motors are extremely small as you can see by the tight racing. Thanks for watching and posting!

Side by side through the big s-curves is impossible unless both cars take it way slow. It's a game of chicken to get alongside someone in those turns. Smart money says lay back and get the pass later.

I have one suggestion on your racing line, when you go into oak tree you down shift on entry and the revs get really down in the middle of the turn why dont you try to downshift again to get a run off of Oak Tree (if I'm wrong don't kill me beaus I don't race, I'm that kid that runs around the track in T&S with the cameras)
