❤ Love all the info Lea! ❤ After 40+ yrs of sewing, I've found the titanium needles, scissors and rotary blades are the best. More $, but last 5x longer. Sometimes when you get skipped cuts with a rotary blade, it can be your mat. You can "clean" it by wiping it with a scrubbie of tulle or netting. It gets the invisible particles out of the mat. Thanks again for your reviews!

Thanks for sharing those very helpful tips!! You're right about keeping cutting mats free from anything. It really does make a big difference! Appreciate your input. Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

Thanks for the great information. As a new quilter/sewer I love learning. Just a suggestion: instead of picking up the blade with your fingers, use a piece of tape to pick it up. I am sometimes a klutz and find that helpful to prevent cutting myself. Remember the old two sided razor blades...? We always had some kind of tape or band aids in house. It's a trick my dad taught me. I love your channel Lea Louise and have learned a lot of great tips and methods to improve my techniques. I just ordered the blades and how timely and yes, I too have waited too long to change blades for the very reason you gave. Cheers from Minnesota

Great review LL 🎉. I still consider myself a beginner, not cutting much fabric and still getting the hang of cutting lots of layers at a time. I received Fabric Hut blades FROM YOU last year in a draw and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I will forever be thankful to you for pointing me to these 'workhorses' for cutting. Really appreciated your advice on the blade HOLDER as well. You never steer us wrong. Karen 🇨🇦

Thank you for your video. I always struggle with the rotary cutter, and I have cut my thumb on one as it slipped forward as I was using it. Thank you for your care, and excellent review of the blades. 😀

Hello, have a couple comments: you mentioned that Fiskar scissors can’t be sharpened but I’ve had a Fiskar sharpener for 20 years and it still works great. Can you please review KAI brand rotary cutters. I have 2 sizes and love them and they’re not that more expensive. I have had a seam ripper since I started sewing 63 years ago. They have definitely improved since then!😊

Thanks for the info, Linda! I'm not familiar with KAI rotary cutters and will check them out. Kudos on your long-life seam ripper. Do you remember what brand it was? Mine have been replaced multiple times. Thanks so much for watching. Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

Thanks Lea! Another tip about the disposing of dull blades: The blades usually come in a plastic hinged case. I write Dull on the empty case with a Sharpie and put my used blades there. When the case is full, I tape it shut and throw it away!

Thank you for sharing. I use the same blades and the rotary cutter as you recommend. I said I don’t recommend the blades because I was having trouble with them. Don’t laugh at me but I had put 2 blades in and didn’t understand what was going on lol. I will have to go back and tell my subscribers it was me and not the blades lol. But I got my blades last year because of you and still have blades it’s good to buy blades ones a year.God bless you and your family have a blessed morning.

Thanks for sharing! But I have to tell you I've done the same thing!! 😂😂😂 When multiple blades are packaged together it's easy to pick up two at a time and no know it. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on, too. I still laugh over that one!! So glad you mentioned this b/c we all do these silly things and it's fun to go back and have a good laugh! Sure appreciate you following along. Happy Quilting! Have a blessed day.

I have several sized cutters, each has a purpose. I use 60 for many layers, 45 for general cuts and 28 for intricate cuts.. Titanium blades are worth the extra $$

Is there a difference between a left hand cutter verses a right hand cutter
@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise

Not to my knowledge, Linda. These cutter handles are straight and have the protective thumb guide on both sides which makes it usable either way. I don't know about some of the new ergonomic cutters. Be sure to check the fine print! Thanks so much for watching! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
