QoD: What’s an item you HAVE to have out on the trails? Let us all know!

Hi you said you use hair bands to keep the water flask in place that's very clever but how did you attach it to your hydration vest? I would highly appreciated if you can anwser as this is a serious question me and my sister been looking for an easy way to carry water with us when running and we don't like water bladders as they are a hassle or having to take our bottles in and out of our bag Please explain in a simple step guide Thanks in advance

I've been looking at these on Amazon as an alternative to more bulky hydration backpacks. Having water bottle(s) in the front to counterbalance the hydration bladder seems handy (also as a backup on long runs in case something springs a leak).

It's a good, inexpensive, option that has worked well for me. Good thinking on the counterbalance. If you're using a hydration bladder in the back you can supplement with a sports drink up front in a bottle for an electrolyte/fuel option. Thanks for watching!

Glad to see yours has held up. I purchased one a year ago and a strap broke the first time I put it on so I moved on.

A good honest review of the vest that I just bought. More on how to correctly adjust the size / fit would be useful please

I've just found a clip for bladder hose on the top chest strap. The hose clips in neatly and it's easy to drink from. Oh and no need to "borrow" your wife's hair grip to fashion your own hose holder

So great that you did this video! I've been using a bladder-pack for long runs, but I'm looking for something lightweight for middle distance runs and racing - more bottle-based. As a running KZitemr I know how much work goes into these videos! Keep posting - I just subscribed!

Hey! I appreciate your comments! It means a lot! I’ve put this pack through a lot and it’s holding up well for a budget level pack, IMO. I’ve liked it 👍👍 I would suggest that as far as bottles go, you’ll want to keep the bottle size to 500 ml or less. I think 400ml, if that’s an option, would be about perfect. My 500 ml soft flask is probably pushing the limit as far as fit goes. This brand does sell their own bottles which will give you a better chance of getting a good fit but if you have your own bottles try those first and then if they don’t quite work you can look for better fitting bottles later. DevRunner, Thanks again for your kind comments. And, thanks for watching!

I just started trail running and I'm looking at this exact vest on Amazon. I didn't understand their price guide because the price is $30 but I think that's just the vest. I can't tell how much it is with the bladder, maybe $50? Anyway, I was using a hiking hydration pack to run with but it's bouncing all over the place. Water bottle on the hip wasn't much better. What do you mean by "Gel"? I've never heard of this? Great review! (I can't pronounce the name either and I speak three languages--evidently not the one that's on the vest..)

Gels are a mid-run fuel source, full of carbs and micronutrients to give you enough energy for the rest of your run. Can be in the form of solid chews, drinks and gels. Apparently you should aim for between 30-60g per hour if running for over 90 minutes. I used them on the Edinburgh Marathon for the first time and I could literally feel the sugar flow through my body like goosebumps. Was a strange feeling. Im assuming my body really needed that boost.

I got this hydration vest with the 2L water pouch that goes in the back about 3 months ago and all in all it's good for the money. However, I've got a huge problem with the water pouch that keeps leaking as the locking tube on top keeps coming off while running and I keep getting wet! I noticed that if there is too much air when you lock it it will most certainly come off but it happens also when there isn't air inside. Really annoying so I have to find some kind of clippers to securely lock it!

It's a blatant Nathan Fircatcher copy. Essentially, lower price means that you are kind of taking a bribe to accept such.
