Jan Žižka z Trocnova a Kalicha ( c. 1360 - 11 October 1424) was a Czech general who was a contemporary and follower of Jan Hus and a Radical Hussite and led the Taborites. Žižka was a successful military leader and is now a Czech national hero. He was nicknamed "One-eyed Žižka", having lost one and then both eyes. Jan Žižka led Hussite forces against three crusades and never lost a single battle although he was completely blind in his last stages of life. The Hussites (Czech: Husité or Kališníci "Chalice People"; ) were a Czech proto-Protestant Christian movement that followed the teachings of reformer Jan Hus (fl. 1401-1415), a part of the Bohemian Reformation. After the execution of Hus at the Council of Constance,[1] a series of crusades, civil wars, victories and compromises between various factions with different theological agendas broke out. At the end of the Hussite Wars (1420-1434), the now Catholic-supported Utraquist side came out victorious from conflict with the Taborites and became the dominant Hussite group in Bohemia. Catholics and Utraquists were given legal equality in Bohemia after the religious peace of Kutná Hora in 1485. Bohemia and Moravia, or what is now the territory of the Czech Republic, remained majority Hussite for two centuries until Roman Catholicism was reimposed by the Holy Roman Emperor following the 1620 Battle of White Mountain during the Thirty Years' War. The Hussite tradition continues in the Moravian Church, Unity of the Brethren and the refounded Czechoslovak Hussite churches. The Hussite traditionally fought from chariots and used commonly the flail as a weapon.

This movie shows nothing of Zizka's legendary historic events. It is a Hollywood stayle mindles movie with lots of fighting and a rather por script. If you want to see something more realistic, there was a Czech movie done earlier with Czech actors.

Self-serving violence. If these are the best scenes, then I don't need to see the movie. Thank you for the time saved.

Yeah, I agree that it wasn't good. But that doesn't go without saying that Ben Foster was once again amazing and still underrated

It wasn't the worst movie ever, but the story and a lot of the combat was just garbage. Should have consulted with Kingdom Come Deliverance's historical advisors

This scene is a microcosm of the military history of the Hussite wars of the 1420s. Those gave birth to the nation of Czechia.

Boring genre blueprint - always the same characters, settings, gestures, big bad guys. Looks like a fairground show.
