Mark is seriously the king of KZitem, and especially of KZitem game reviews. And he is still the same playful, smug personality he was 20+ years ago when CGR debuted. ALL HAIL LORD KARNAGE!

Idk if I'd call him the king, but definitely a pioneer. He's like one of the elders of online video production, there from practically the start of online video game content and definitely an inspiration for so many creators and retro game enthusiasts alike! He's not a king. He's a LORD.

He's easily the best (with SuperDerekRPG right behind). Mark knows what games are ultimately for: entertainment. And so he put sole focus on what makes a game *fun* . Other reviewers look at all the elements in games down to fine details, to the point that it often becomes tedious. And while I don't think a broad lens is wholly a bad thing, taking the route of simplicity (the ultimate sophistication, as DaVinci says) to address the core nature of games is genius, and remains that way to this day. More than any other reviewer, he makes me want to play the games--not study them. Mark is a master of the art of the review.

@@lukeautosymbol2668 If anything, he's the everyman when it comes to the the hobby; the kinda person you can relate to more than a character actor or an essayist. Even as far back as the OG Game Room there was a feeling you could relate to these two guys just casually talking about videos games they liked and disliked. Both Mark and Dave (and Derek of Undertow) feel like the guys that you could just talk to for hours at the bar about the fun of old video games.

@@TheRetroRenegade how relatable all the reviewers are at CGR is a huge part of what makes them great. you can sense the passion for the games not like they're essayists, influencers, or the like--but that they're gamers like us.

I want to express my appreciation for getting new CGR videos as well as these hour+ compilations; I've been sick in bed for the past few days so it's been a godsend to help pass time! I grew up watching lots of CGR and am glad to still be a viewer over a decade later. Keep up the great work! :)

For me, the greatest console ever released. Paved the way for so much we take for granted in gaming today (online console gaming, massive open world gameplay, true arcade ports, portable memory, etc). And the games, man. The games... ♥

The Best games were the Games I bought with it the day it came out. Hydro Thunder, Soul Calibur, R2R, House of the Dead 2 and Sonic Adventure (which i didn't actually play seriously for a few days as the VMU didn't hit here until about 4 days later) Those are my personal Favorites. And I believe with the right controller Half Life and GTA3 would have ran fine on that thing but I guess we'll never know. But I remember 9\9\99 alright.
