The first thing with sleeping can be complicated as you have to be able to get to sleep. I am watching this in February 2021. I don't think I have slept since 2019. If you get my drift. 2020 was a useless year. Who slept? Yes you can sleep in the chair if you get five seconds that you weren't under high stress for what was going on in the world...

Out of all their videos they never talk about how you can sleep with a wedge pillow under your head but sleeping on your side. I have acid reflux and my doctor recommended that i sleep using a wedge pillow to elevate my upper body. But i also have sleep apnea so i can't sleep on my back. So what is the best position to sleep on your side but using a wedge pillow?

That means your living with acid reflux etc.. instead of getting rid of it. When you have acid it means your body pH is out of whack. Get some pH sticks (cheap as) and have a look. Having reflux can mean your not producing enough acid. Weird science moment. Solve the problem. A naturapath gave me pH balancing powder, i dont ever have the minty glug anymore. Awesome.

I'm late to the party here, but I'm watching to make sure that my back sleeping with my rather severe back issues is on target. I've been using pillows to elevate my legs because I get a yearly MRI for my migraines, and they put a wedge like this there years ago, and I thought I heard angels sing, it was so immediately comfortable. LOL I then started doing it at home. Untreated childhood scoliosis is bad news in the late 50s after a 10 lb. baby in my late 30s. That's my spinal headline, with a cervical bulging disc and a lumbar herniated disc, and more of those come. I've watched y'all on and off and subbed today. Thank you!

2 things I can’t get out of my head-1) the retention of body heat with more than one pillow. I already sleep with one under my arm and sometimes find that to be too warm, especially in the summer; and 2) I would have to wake up and rearrange the pillows every time I rolled over, or possibly even have to retrieve them from the floor. I used to fall asleep very easily and then sleep for 8 to 10 hours without awakening for any reason. Getting old is not easy.

My step-dad was a chiropractor who had a manipulation table on which you could lie face down with your head in a middle-of-range position,I.e., head facing straight down. A cushion on each side of the face supported the head. Pretty relaxing to lie down on, if someone wasn’t cracking on your spine. I know I’d drool sleeping like that

Some additional advice from someone dealing with back pain: Sleeping on my back with the pillows under my legs has been the answer for me, probably because i have an extremely firm mattress which isn't as kind to side sleeping. However, i found i need to build a taller stack of pillows than what they show in this video - again, probably because of my mattress. Try stacking at least 3 pillows of average thickness if this is the case for you. Also i like to place the pillows such that my feet rest on top of them instead of hanging over, so that's something else you can experiment with. One final tip: To test your back-sleeping position, take a deep breath into your belly. This should NOT cause any additional back pain - if it does, you need to refine your setup. That's how i figured out i need to stack more pillows!

I bought that leg wedge a few years ago. It was great as far as positioning my lower back, but with the sharp edge that my feet were hanging off of (like Liz’s were in your video) my feet were going numb and my ankles hurt. I would need it longer so my heels were supported on the surface. I’m not particularly tall (5’6”) and don’t have long legs. So I couldn’t use that wedge.

I made my own wedge out of a old foam mattress to keep my feet elevated and out of anterior pelvic tilt, but sleeping flat on my back puts pressure on my neck so I can't sleep. I have taken the legs off at the bottom of my bed in hopes this will angle me more down and put less pressure on my neck, I'm hoping this is a good alternative to buying an expensive wedge for the back
